Batman Returns
#83: Batman Returns

Released In: 1993
Developer:
Konami
Publisher: Konami

The Penguin and his Red Triangle Circus Gang have taken over Gotham City. As Batman, the vigilante superhero, it's up to you to stop him. Along the way, you'll subdue the mentally unstable Catwoman and take the Batmobile out for a spin. Oh, and Vincent Schiavelli is one of the level bosses. How cool is that?

Syd Lexia: Batman fucking rules. Beat 'em ups fucking rule. Therefore, a beat 'em up based on Batman must be... absolutely dreadful. I'm just kidding. This game is the shit.

Valdronius: Remember all those bad things I said about The Death and Return of Superman? Well apparently the Man of Steel should be taking his cues from the Dark Knight, because this game is far superior to the Superman one. You can still pick up enemies and throw them into background objects, but you can also punch more than one enemy at a time. You can also pick up enemies and use them as weapons, and you can even smash your enemies' heads together. Throw in batarangs and a grappling hook, and you've got a very acceptable movie-to-game conversion.
