#43: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Released In: 1991
Developer: Sculptured Software
Publisher: Virgin

You are Sir Robin of Locksley, a knight who has returned from the Crusades after being imprisoned by the Arabs for an indeterminate amount of time. You arrive home to find that King Richard has not yet returned and the evil Prince John and the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham are running England. Not only that, but your estate has been razed and you have been deemed an enemy of the state. It's up to you and your allies to defeat villains such as Guy of Gisborne, the witch Mortianna, and the Sheriff of Nottingham and rescue the lovely Maid Marian. Based on the movie with Kevin Costner.

Syd Lexia: This game had everything... melee battles, Zelda-ish questing, and duels featuring comically oversized swords. This game was also my formal introduction that to the graphic-based inventory screen that I would later come to love in Ultima Underworld and the Diablo games.

Rycona: A really neat game. It's adventure-tastic.

Dr. Jeebus: This game was actually better than the movie it was based on. You know why? Cuz there's a giant fucking skeleton.
