#31: Dr. Mario

Released In: 1990
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

After an experiment goes awry, three viruses get loose in the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital. Armed with his untested new Megavitamins, it's up to a moonlighting Mario to save the day in this quirky Tetris variant.

Syd Lexia: I got this game for my birthday in February of 1991 after pretty much begging for it. I didn't really know anything about it, but it had Mario in it and therefore I had to have it. I used to love this game back in the day, these days not so much. While it's better than Hatris or Yoshi's Cookie, it's just not as good as Tetris. Unlike many of the other games on this list, this isn't one that I much feel like revisiting.

Valdronius: Sure Dr. Mario may have been a knock-off of Tetris, it was still a decent game though. Tetris just kept going until you died; Dr. Mario had a specific number of levels. There is no more satisfying feeling than the feeling you get after beating level 20 on high speed.

Rycona: Another game my mother used to beat me at. After I practiced it for a while, I was the ultimate victor.
