PROS:
It's got Christian Bale.
It's MFing Terminator
No Arnold. (He's too old and flabby to be a Terminator anymore.)
CONS:
It was directed by McG, who biggest film was Charlie's Angels 2.

Im very excited that they are coming out with a new film, but I am very concerned that they are spreading the terminator out too thin. I guess everyone is just intrigued with the storyline. I am a huge Terminator fan, so I am not complanining.

There's no Arnold because he says violence is bad for you now.

You forgot that it'll probably be rated PG-13. Even if they go for a "hard" PG-13.
Regardless of the rating, what I'm really looking forward to are the older Terminator models. We've only seen them getting better with the T-1000 and T-X. It'll be interesting to see models build before the T-800 series.

Uh, there's no Arnold because he retired from acting to RUN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
Anyway, fuck this. The Terminator franchise is Arnold Schwarzenegger in sunglasses. I don't care how many explosions you put in it, it's nothing without him. So it's got Bale, big fucking deal. It's directed by the fucking producer of Tne OC and it's a sad attempt by the studio to rape a popular franchise for a little extra money. It's like if they decided to make a sequel to the Fifth Element, but Willis wouldn't do it so they recast Stone Cold Steve Austin as Korben Dallas. If you go and see this movie, you insta-fail.

I actually really dug the Charlie's Angels movies, they were a lot of fun.
That being said, as far as I'm concerned, the only real Terminator is what James Cameron created. Jonathon Mostow whizzed all over that with Terminator 3, and when I saw this promo image for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I laughed my ass off:
It's like "The WB presents... The GLAMORnator!" No. This is just shameless cashing in. I'm not saying some of these people aren't trying to make good movies/series, but this is not Cameron's tech noir. This is crap.

I think we're all overlooking the fact that even if arnold wanted to be in this movie, there's no role even written for him.

I have nothing significant to add to this, because it is absolutely correct. Every bit.

I dunno, I am very wary of any of these new imagined sequels, or even redo's these days. Like Rob Zombie's Halloween. I love Rob Zombie, but that kinda sucked the sweaty hairs on my left nut.

Oh, Syd, I owe it to the Terminator series to be there at a Midnight showing. I mean, I saw T3 on opening day, I watched every episode of Sarah Connor, Im going to see it no matter what because that's what fans of a series do, no matter how bad a film is.
I am just SO concerned about the fact they are taking the Terminator storyline and beating the shit out of it. Wasnt there something about not being able to fight during the day because they will spot you? Granted, the music is very imaginative in the preview, and I am very disturbedly anxious to see this film. It's like watching your favorite car sit and rot in your yard. It was once the best car you've ever driven, but now it wont even run and you can't get rid of it.
How soon until we see a Terminator film direct to video? Ya know? Its like "Please let this franchise rest after the atrocity that is T3".

T3 wasn't a bad movie. It just wasn't a good Terminator movie. As far as pure action goes I liked it. If you just watch it as regular Arnold action flick it absolutely delivers.

So this is suppose to be T4? T2 is the best, because other then Arnold, the T-1000 was the best killing machine in the series or even dare i say ever. So what, are we going to see all models before T-800 kill off humans? And we probably will get a pov of the robot HQ and see the buildup leading to T-800 And don't forget they have to add reference to the fallout after the nuke attack at the end of . . . spolier . . . T3. I don't know, the series always belong to Arnold and i guess if your a hard core fan of the series, then this might be appealing.
I do have one question, if Arnold is the T-800 and the liquid metal man is T-1000 then what was the T-900?

I didn't know this before, but apparently the T-900 had a cameo in T3.

Yeah, Cameron cleared that up in the commentary on the T2 DVD: 101 refers to the model (what the Terminator looks like) while 800 refers to the series (what generation of cyborg it is). So theoretically you could have a Series 800 Model 101 Terminator fight a Series 1000 Model 101 Terminator, both of which would look like Schwarzenegger.

T3 was alright, but it had three major faults:
A. No Sarah Connor
B. They should have gotten Edward Furlong as John Connor, especially since his character in 3 is a pillfiend, and Furlong is in real life
C. It directly mimiced T2 in a low-rent sort of way (the crane-truck chase scene in T3 was a weak attempt to match the excitement of the dirtbike/motorcycle/18-wheeler chase scene from T2.)
The thing it did the best was bring die-hard terminator fans all the way up to Judgement Day, and at least T4 will actually show us the war against the machines.

Yea I'm interested in seeing that as well. If I remember correctly, those robotic "tanks" in T3 that were rampaging around the building were the first terminators. I'm pretty sure I saw a model# on them in one scene......if Arnold is a T-101, I think these were labeled T-10 or something like that. I've got to watch it again to confirm.
