So my cousin and I were walking around downtown Chilliwack at about 11:30ish. We saw that the fire hydrant outside the college had one of those extended arms on it. So we unscrewed the cap and opened the valve. We remembered though that the cop shop was a block away, so we bolted through the college, along the back of a middle school, down this road, through a ped tunnel under the train tracks (by then we were probably safe), down this road, through the hospital parking lot (there was some dude inside the ER covered in blood and reading the paper), down a road, through an alley behind a shopping centre, up the side of the strip mall, across the main road, through a motel, across the street, through the main park, down 2nd Avenue, up another street, through the middle school field into my cousin's complex.

It was fun, and the cops were almost on our ass at one point.

Anyone else got fun 'runnin' from the law' stories?

I was stationed in Japan for the last two years, and every weekend we'd end getting drunk out in town, which lately is a big no-no. Upon the exodus of a frequented bar commonly known as "Fuji's", we approached by the JP's and they started yelling at in japanese. I don't remember what was said, but we end up having to tear as through down town Okinawa City with our hands zip tied in front of us...we got away, but ended up getting busted by the MP's because we tried hopping the fence...breaking curfew and such ridiculous pablum.

OH WELL!!!

I was downtown and went into an alley to piss and got caught by the cops. One of them was a total dick and was screaming at us. He said: "didn't you guys go to school? don't you know that the plague was started by piss and shit?", to which I replied, yes, but at my school they taught us the plague was started by diseased vermin and corpses. That didn't go over too well. Fortunately his partner was nice, and let us go.

I've never had to run, planning ahead makes it easier to stroll casually away.

Yes, and running makes you look guilty. If you just blend into a crowd and walk causally the cops won't notice you. (unless you've committed a serious crime and they got sniffer dogs)

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

pft, everybody thinks the name is hilarious...I don't get it.

But on that note, our bowling alley is called the Chillibowl Lanes and the two bordering freeway exits are Lickman and Annis roads.

we used to do this at the mall parking lot:

we would all congregate in a circle so it would look like we were planning something. and once security got a good look at us we all just ran in different directions. they dont like that too much.

anyhow, stories.. stories...

well, we have done a ton of dine & ditch (or dine & dash) and we have been chased by the workers. not cops. not yet at least.

there are a lot of other stories but i'd rather not divulge them yet.

Yeah, the statute's up on most of my tales, so i gues I could divulge more...

Behind the Liquidation World in town there's these 15-foot dumpsters. They're biiig motherfuckers. But on their front side, down at the bottom, it tilts in. So basically they're just begging to get pushed over. So my buddies and I would always go over there, push 'em over, and run through this amazing set of alleyways to his backyard.

Once we had the cops right on our ass. It was fun.

The problem with not running is that if it's at night and there's not really anyone around, cops are going to pull over a group of kids and assume it's them that did it. Chances are it is, and it'll be the only people the cops see all night.

Ross,

With a population of 6 people in the town, haven't you figured out that there is:

1) Your Mom
2) Your Dad
3) The Cop
4) The Other Cop
5) Your Friend
6) You

They know who you are, but if they lock you up, they won't have a job.

Hard to believe, but I've never been ran from cops. What a disappointment, right?

I did get stopped and searched once in my old neighborhood because I fit the description of someone who killed somebody around there (black and tall, lol) and they even searched what was on my laptop and forced me to give them a password for it.

Whitey keepin' ya down, eh? That sucks man. Now that I cut my hair, I'm not questioned as much, which is nice. But the cops here suck shit so much. Like when my friend Kyla was on the roof of the mall and four cruisers showed up, and they did everything but ACTUALLY GO ON THE FUCKING ROOF. They just drove around a bit then took off.

I remember reading a quote once from ... I think it was Abraham Lincoln. Anyway, it went to the tune of this: the fun in procrastination isn't not doing anything; it's having something to do and chosing not to do it. Along the same lines (at least, it makes sense in my head at 2 in the morning) the "fun" of breaking the law isn't that you're doing something in reality that's really stupid and pointless, it's that you're doing something stupid and pointless that you're more or less specifically told not to do.

That said, rules or no rules, I don't see the point in running around and making an idiot of myself. Like you are. Very Happy

You've obviously never been to Chilliwack, or lived in a similar type of town for an extended period. I either do this or sit around drunk and high...at least this way I'm productive and getting to know the layout of my fair "city". Laughing

I'm sure you can read a book or watch a movie or write a new song or practice guitar or plant a tree or take a walk or play on the internet or write a novel or make a website or write an editorial or go pick up trash or volunteer or simply just sit down under a tree and take in the air. Very Happy
