You could just hang on to whatever hair you still have, and work some magic on that.
However, seeing as you're not a fan of the combover, I'll have to suggest the Heihachi.
Seriously though, my hair is thin as shit and I'm sure I'll be in your position in a few years

This thread made me aware I have a lot of grey hairs now in places that are not easy to remove out of my head.
I still have a full head of hair though, at 31, which is likely from my biological dad's side, who was full blooded Cherokee. I don't like grey hairs or balding Both depress me.

I too have the curse.
About three years ago, I decided F' it. I am not going to do the horseshoe look that all the other men in my family have. So, since then I gone completely shaven. It's easy maintenance, and looks far better then having bald spots, or only hair on the sides and back.

i guess its time to hit those weights and that protein.
and maybe stretch those legs out somehow.

I'm lucky in that I'll probably never go bald. My uncle is bald, but he started losing his hair at like 21 or 22, and I don't even have so much as a receding hairline (although I get paranoid and think I do sometimes cause I have a kinda high forehead). My dad is almost 60 and still has a full head of hair and I think has spotted like 3 gray hairs in his life, which is likely the direction I'll be going.
Anyway, go out with some dignity, GP. I know it's gotta suck and losing my hair is one of my biggest fears, but just accept it. You don't want to be "that guy" who just can't accept that he's balding and has ridiculous combovers and stuff. Searching for a new hairstyle to hide your thinning hair is the first step on that path, and it's a very slippery slope. I'm sure it's harder to actually do than it sounds, but I've always told myself that if I ever start to lose my hair that I'm shaving it all off, and that's what I'd recommend for you as well. Or you can look like David Cross.

My problem is that my hair is still thick enough that I don't need to shave it, however anything that separates it, such as hair gel, will make it look too thin and show the recession.
So, I can most likely part my hair without it being a comb over. Or I can keep it a little longer, like 1.5" instead of .75".
Once you shave it, you can't go back. I can't at least. My friends and family will know why I did it and growing it back in looks odd. When my natural hair without product shows thinning signs of baldness I will commit to shaving it, however at this time I think I am about 18 months away from that.

About every 2 days I run my good old, 10+ year old, electric shaver over it. After shaving, I lotion it with some Lubriderm lotion to decrease any redness or razor burn. Lotion works great, and doesn't reek like if you dosed your head with aftershave.
I'm 6'0" and 195lb. (More pudge then muscle, sadly.) And, I think it looks fine on my build. I think it could work for you. Here's another comparison on a smaller wrestler:

Do you actually use gel or something else. I use the axe hair products because it doesn't look like anything is in my hair and it holds like a fucking champ.

Wow, I have that EXACT beard trimmer.
No, I mean one like the first one. Just a regular electric face razor. They are already designed to for the contours of the faces such as the chin and jawbone, so the glide great over the head as well. Just make sure you trim it down as short as possible with hair trimmers or such the first you shave your head.
Some people prefer straight razors for their head, but I don't really want to take a blade to the back of my head and try to shave where I can't see easily.

My family doesn't have any balding problems (though the top corners have receded a bit), but there is a better-than-average chance my hair will turn snow-white in the next ten years.  I have near-black hair now...it will be weird if it inverts.

I had one just like it 10 years ago and then I was in Walmart about 6 months ago and they sell them for $15. It must be a relationship between Philips and Walmart. I bet millions of people have the same trimmer.
