There's been some word that NBC will expand "The Office" to an hour long format. This season has seen a plethora of "super sized" episodes to test out the longer format, we've also seen more dramatic material than last season. Is it possible next season will be the switch to hour long dramedy?
I've been calling for this since "The Merger", the first of this season's longer episodes. Additionally there was "The Return", "A Benihana Christmas", last season's "Casino Night", and last week's "Women's Appreciation". Tonight's episode will also be another extended episode with a longer finale to follow next week! Seems to me the show is surviving the longer running time. With
two CEOs of NBC (retracted) NBC's CEO and Entertainment President saying their considering it, I think it's a safe bet it will happen.
