I was watching The Cable Guy the other day, what a great movie. I remember when it came out, it got an awful reception. The critics and fans alike hated it, apparently disappointed that he didn't do the same old shitick he had done in Ace Ventura, The Mask, Batman Forever as well as on In Living Color.

Despite its unfavorable reception, The Cable Guy is actually pretty damn funny, fairly dark, and filled with great movie and TV references. It also represents an important milestone in Jim Carrey's career, namely the moment where he began to expand his acting horzinons and stopped playing the same character over and over again. Unlike once-popular comedians such as Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase, Carrery has managed to stay relevant by diversifying himself.

I like The Cable Guy too. It's kinda odd for a good movie with to have such bad reputation.

I liked Cable Guy a lot. I prefer Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, but I think Carrey is great in both roles.

I've actually been to a Medeival Times. Jeneane Garofallo wasn't my server though.

I only own it from a tape I made when it aired on FOX. The film wouldn't feel so dated if it weren't for the commercials. But that's out of my hands now...

I still refer to Jack Black as that guy from the X-Files D.P.O. This was the first time I got to call him that (followed by Neverending Story III and finally High Fidelity).
