Sad case, but I'm glad they're not planning to track down the bear and kill it. Bears will be bears.

Ouch, that IS sad. But I'm glad that they aren't killing her, especially since they'd have to kill the cubs too.

The angriest I ever got over something like that was at UAF, when a moose wandered onto campus (as they do quite frequently during mating season) and a drunk frosh decided he wanted to ride the moose. Moose was not impressed, slammed him up against a building with its antlers, killing him pretty instantaneously. They tracked down and killed the moose after the predictable outcry, despite the fact that the dude was being a complete and utter moron.

Like the guy said, people put themselves in very dangerous places for very absurd reasons.

I don't know how drunk you'd have to be to attempt to ride a fucking moose. I've never seen one in real life, but aren't they bigger than horses?

They sure can be. Average between 1000-1500lbs, about the same or a little bigger than a very large horse. They are not to be effed with.

Yeah I'd stay the fuck away from a Moose and admire it from a distance, things are fucking massive.
