I'm a sucker for sprite fonts. I especially like the use of them in the Resident Evil 5 still.

Looking at the others on the link, Bayonetta looks like a Toaplan shmup, Little Big Planet looks like the NES game Gimmick, Noby Noby Boy totally looks like something Namco woulda done back in the day, and Sin & Punishment looks like it would be a nightmare to play on a GBA screen.

That Other M one kinda looks like that Super Scope game Battle Clash. Battle Clash was the only game I actually owned for the Super Scope except for that thing that came with the scope.

the red dead redemption one is totally gunsmoke, which is awesome.

I would probably play the shit out of most of these, and kinda wish these games would had come out back in the day.

These were on the guy's pixeljoint page. Unused perhaps?

I actually really like the Dead Space one. Has a Metroid feel to it.

I'd probably be more interested in playing the demakes than the actual games for most of those.

No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

I was going to bitch about the URL since it says 8-bit remakes and everything you posted is 16-bit, but then I followed the link an the article is actually titled The Video Games of Today Reimagined in 8 and 16 Bits. So it's cool.

I heart the Vanquish/Wild Arms demake.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I dunno man... I'm on the fence about the metal gear one, but the red dead one is definitely 8 bit.

Yeah, there are definitely some 8-bit ones. But all the ones Sathien posted I'd consider 16-bit. Except Brutal Legend, which is VGA.

Also, that thing gets MAD lazy towards the end.

Soul Calibur IV is referred to as just Soul Calibur, Starcraft 2 is referred to as Starcraft, and one of the last two console Mario games (it's either Double Dash or Mario Kart Wii, too lazy to determine) is referred to as Super Mario Kart.

Oh, and, uh, WE ARE ALREADY FUCKING KNOW WHAT A 16-BIT VERSION OF MARIO KART WOULD LOOK LIKE, YOU STUPID FUCKING COCKSUCKERS.

The MGS4 demake (excluding the camo index and the circular radar) looks identical to Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

Also, that Bioshock demake looks totally awesome, like a Metroidvania.

It's hard to tell, because the screenshots aren't the same size, but I'd say the demake is a lot crisper than the MGS games. It's tough to say for sure though. 8-bit is primarily defined by its color palette, but most 8-bit games also ran at a native 256x240 resolution. These days, we are capable of much higher resolutions, so you can make a better looking game with a limited color palette than you could in 1988 on console hardware. There are definitely mid-80s arcade games that look as good as the MGS demake, I couldn't tell you their hardware specs though.

I'm more surprised that they didn't go the proper route with a starcraft demake:

I also picture left 4 dead in more of a lethal enforcers/area 51 kinda thing:
