This game is really, really fun. I'm enjoying it a lot more than epic mickey. The enemies seem a little slow, but switching between the foreground and background within the level is pretty neat. Some of the level design, like the sunset level using silhouettes, is a great aesthetic, too. A+; it makes me want to play the originals again.

Wow they figured out how to port that technical wizardry out of the Virtual Boy?

So I finally got my pre-ordered copy almost a week too late, and I have been having a blast with this one today. Playing it with my girlfriend, and we are really having a good time. The level design is very creative imo, the graphics are just fantastic, the music is the same old and the challenge is spot on in my opinion (though, I would guess it is a bit too easy in single player). However, the controls are f*cking ridiculous. I HATE the shaking to roll when the 1-button (used sideways) almost is not used. WTF is up with that? They could at least have given us a few choices? Now, of course the game still works fine, and its my favorite game of the year alongside Other M and Mega Man 10, but its sad to think that it could have been even better.

I'd call this game perfect, but the fact that I cannot map DK's roll to a button and am forced to motion the damn remote makes me a sad panda.

That was my only big concern with the game. Ruined it for me.

It just feels weird, the roll is an attack, I want to be able to twitch smash a button to make him roll, not remember oh shit I got to shake, too late! Plus it makes extended roll jumps awkward as all hell, although to the game's credit I haven't found a spot where you need to roll first to extend the jump to make it.

That was the part about Donkey Kong Country 1 that pissed me off. I almost didn't figure out how to get past that part.
