I'm not aware if we already have a plan for this, but we need to plan what we're going to do if the apocalypse occurs. Nuclear, ice age, zombie, doesn't matter which, we just need a game plan.
Firstly, a place to meet. Ideas?

Unless some of you are coming out to the AZ high country and bringing comestibles with you, you probably won't hear from me until/if the electronic infrastructure is back up. We already have plans, forestry maps, and other stuff that's necessary, but we'll pray for your asses. If it's zombies, that shit'll be rootin' tootin' fun. We'll be living in Sam's Club in that case.

If this were really happening first priorty is my family, and myself lol... get to the safest maintainable place quick as a possible.
Secondly form a plan to fix the situation long-term, so that life can resume as closely as it did before this event.
-----
In the spirit of humor... I say we all go to the card shop that Jeebus frequents, from there we assign roles... I'll be in charge of the music selection played during all our plans. First person who dies we'll play Don't Cry For Me Argentina!

Sorry dude, but you're not in charge of the music either. Unless this theoretical sydlexia mob was raiding and pillaging like that unfortunate WoW funeral raid video, the Scatman isn't going to make an appearance.

There was a plan involving the Zombie apocalypse from like a year ago. It had something to do with holing up at Cabela's/Bass Pro or Wal Mart or some similar place, as it stands now, I'm shacking up, I've got enough ammunition to last me a while, but not the sustenance, so I may have to rethink my plans, I COULD supply the armament for a small group (about 10-15, more if I were to give people blades after I run out of firearms to hand out), or I could be dead before I even meet up with anyone...who knows, but in that case I give you permission to raid my stocks, just give me a viking funeral, pyre and all.
In case of Zombies, this is my loadout...well I'm missing a few things, like my AR15, but I don't have it handy so this is what you get. REVEL IN MY PREPAREDNESS:

We'd throw you to the zombies first chance we get
I'd take a car and drive to Cabelas, full of guns and camping supplies as well as zoo full of fish that we can fry when food rations run low

Thunder Thief, are those solid slug or birdshot? I keep some of each on hand, as well as some flechette ones for the breakaway.

It's 00 Buck, I'd prefer if I had #1 buck, but that shit is hard to find around these parts, and I keep a couple slugs in my Mossberg's side saddle, but as you can probably tell, this isn't me Mossberg. I only ever used turkey loads/bird shot for clay pigeons, don't have much use for it.

I am slightly impressed, saying the least...
The handgun's gonna be less useful against zombies though, unless the "zombies" are just humans with some crazy disease, because we all know zombies need there heads destroyed to die... : P ...and I'm not sayin this as a knowitall loser or anything, it was just something from a zombie survival guide....
ANYWHO... >.> ....
My apocalypse plans are as follows;
0) Be properly armed and equipped; like wearing a full face helmet incase i turn into a zombie so i don't go around biting people : P
1) Kill off my family, they'll only slow me down.
2) Save my gf as quickly as possible, she's the only person I care about.
3) Rendezvous with any other friends/acquaintances who may have survived.
4) Steal vehicles with friends/acquaintances
5) Go to the large farm fields and begin a makeshift civilization.
0v2) Kill anything not on my side.

Kyrios may have a point. Maybe an apocalypse is a great opportunity to kill everybody you hate. They are not gonna check the first billion bodies for bullets

If nuclear weapons were set off where i live i would be dead.
The country is so small that the blast radius would kill us all.
Implying an ice age can suddenly occur like in Day after tomorrow i am dead as well. Considering the logic of that film most of the Northern Hemisphere is doomed. So i am dead also.
Zombie is the only i could possibly survive.
Based on this cracked article that is...

You mean THIS Zombie survival guide? (and that's an inert grenade if you haven't guessed)
It's good overall but there are some inaccuracies.
From some blog:
"The first bit of bad info that I must correct is the author's straight out and foolish dismissal of the AR-15 style rifle. He uses the weapon system as an example of the absolute "worst" in a rifle, though most of his criticisms are unfounded. Here are a few examples.
"both difficult to clean and prone to jamming"
WRONG. The AR-15 is far from "hard to clean"; it can be disassembled easily for cleaning. When maintained at all, it is a very reliable platform.
"Adjusting the sight, something that must be done every time a target shifts its range, requires the use of a nail, ballpoint pen, or similar device."
WRONG. It is the front sight that requires a tool to adjust (you can just use the tip of a 5.56 cartridge to do so). After an initial "sight in" for a new rifle, you should not need to adjust the front sight again, let alone when a target is moving towards you. That's completely retarded. I actually don't know of any rifles off hand that have very easily adjustable front sights, let alone the AK-47, which the author promotes as the "best" assault style rifle.
"The delicate plastic stock of the M16A1 obviates bayonet use, and attempting to use it as such you would risk shattering the hollow, spring-loaded stock."
WRONG. First off, using a bayonet doesn't have a whole lot to do with the weapon's stock. The bayonet attaches to the front of the weapon, not the back. Yes, a buttstroke from the plastic stock of an M16/AR-15 will not do much damage to an enemy, but a buttstroke from nearly any modern weapon will do little to destroy an attacking zombie's brain. Finally, the "hollow" stock is made from steel and not likely to "shatter" any time soon.
Handguns are an afterthought.
FOOLISH. The author's discussion of handguns is a woefully short afterthought. Basically, his view boils down to "you won't hit anything, but because they're light, you should carry one anyways. Wrong. When your primary weapon (your rifle) runs dry and zombies are only a few steps away, transitioning to a sidearm will always be faster than reloading your rifle. Accuracy with a handgun requires more practice, but headshots are certainly possible, especially at the up-close range of the situations you would use it in. A secondary firearm is an essential tool for every undead fighter, and disregarding its importance is as brain dead as any necrotic zombie."

we'd need various checkpoints and such to slowly gather and work our way there...
also, the zombie survival guide i read was not that one pictured but another one, and i agree on the use of handguns, but as who i am as a person, i'd rather not waste ammunition with rifles at long range, but wait till i know for sure i can cause incapacitation and kills because zombies are physiologically still human, therefore a destroying a few joint points will prevent further advance...but that's just me....
