Actually, at least in the US version of Super Mario All-Stars, you still remain "big" if you take a hit while Firey or Raccoon Mario, or when wearing a suit, just like the NES version. There is, however, a similarity to the Famicom version of SMB3 in Super Mario All-Stars (US): if you get hit when wearing a suit, a white outline of the suit's icon flies off you. This was not featured in the NES version of SMB3, but was always in the Famicom version.
