Will it have a game I want to play? Seriously. The ability to play Drake's Fortune does not seem worth $299.
Also, I just bought my first PS2 a week or two ago. For the same reason: a console needs to have games I want to play to warrant a purchase. Now I can play Kingdom Hearts.
I hear God of War is good. |
PS2 has a bloody fantastic library, depending on what you want to try out. Lets see, you've got psychonauts, beyond good and evil, the fatal frame series, the silent hill series, the shadow hearts series, the very extensive and very excellent shin megami tensai series, odin sphere, okami, its got the street fighter anniversary collection, some people like the ratchet and clank series, killer 7, ico, shadow of the collosus, at least one of the final fantasies should pique your interest, the disgaea series, resident evil 4, god hand, viewtiful joe, rogue galaxy, god of war II, incredible hulk: ultimate destruction, theres probably one of the final fantasies that you will like, the xenogears series, not really PS2 games but you can get compilations of capcom and SNK games like KoF or megaman, dark cloud and dark cloud 2, arcana hearts, guilty gear, some people that arent me like metal gear solid and its ilk, I enjoyed the yakuza series, grim grimoire, steambot chronicles, some suikodens, its a bit of a niche but growlancer and the extensive dot hack games, a pretty good dragon quest, a bunch of RPGs I cant remember, the big names in 3d fighters of which I loathe, devil may cry, the GTA's, and a bunch of wrestling, sports and FPS's of which I never touch.
To be frank you've got options worth years. I personally didn't think I was going to move on in systems, but I'm a compulsive videogame player and I gotta have Brutal Legend and Blazblue.
