Haha, that was my main problem with 1989's Batman, too. Keaton simply was not the right choice for Batman. I love Jack Nicholson as the Joker, though. I love The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. Christian Bale, in my opinion, played both Batman and Bruce Wayne flawlessly. It's pretty damned tough to find any flaw in the of the other actors, and obviously Ledger's Joker was simply amazing. Better than Nicholson, but the Joker was played completely different by both men, so admittedly it is kind of tough to say,
As for the other movies, I also love watching the 1966 Batman just for it's hilarious campiness. I really want to see Batman Returns, and I'd like to see Batman Forever, too. I think it goes without saying that Batman and Robin sucked. That one tried to pull off the hilarious campiness, but failed miserably.

Am I the only one who wasn't bothered by the growling? Maybe it's all the death metal I listen to that's got me accustomed to it. While I didn't care for BatKeaton that much, I will say that he had the right way of deepening his voice just enough to be unrecognizable, but not to be too growly for most people, and even though I'll admit that while I wasn't bothered by the growling, I would have preferred simply a lower voice. Then again, Christian Bale has a moderately low voice, so maybe it wouldn't have seemed like a good enough disguise.
I'd also like to throw out the fact that my parents hated the Dark Knight, proving that they are very much squares.

Then he throws him to the ground and jumps onstage to perform the most brutal death metal in Gotham while a pack of bats cartoonishly mauls Joker. Then there would be some Gotham pun on Gothenburg.

Continuing the Batman moviefilm discussion, I really, really, really don't want Robin to be in the next movie. The character just always bugged me (well, maybe not in Teen Titans.) Maybe if we can get an actor who won't turn him into an embarrassment, then I'll be satisfied. Of course, I'm pretty sure (but too lazy to look it up) that it's been officially said that the Nolan movies won't have Robin because Bruce Wayne is still young.
