Actually, the movies that make the most money, per capita, are the shitty horror ones with relative unknowns as actors and shaky camera footage that cost dick to make. Paranormal Activity, anyone? 350,000 for the rights to distribute, 194 million or so worldwide. That's a 55,400% return on investment. That said, by and large, you're mostly right, OWD; unless it's based on a hot current property or a nostalgia one, it's going to get less money, especially considering some of the hard flops like Mars Needs Moms, Green Lantern, John Carter of Mars, etc. That or Americans just fucking hate Martians.
