Indeed, as evidenced in the classic Bullitt chase starring Steve McQueen.

Bullitt is the most overrated car chase of all time.
If you want a car chase scene from SF, at least choose a good one. I thought The Rock was much better. "This is my hum V. I don't want any dinks dents or scratches or I'll have your ass!"

Additionally I really liked the chase scene in Ronin and the ones in the Bourne Identity series.

Bullitt is always cited because there weren't that many awesome car chases up until that point GP. Of course movies since then have improved upon it. Comparing something from 30 years later is pretty retarded. That's like saying "The CG in Willow looks so fake LOL, I like Lord of the Rings better!"

San Francisco is great for Crazy Taxi rides and escapes from GUN robots.
Nah, the lady at the end of the movie actually morphed.

"Take my lead I'll set you free. Follow me! Set me free. Trust me and we will escape from the city." takes a breath.
"I'll make it through prove it to you! Follow me!"

So call it "one of the great original car chase movies".
It is no longer the champion of the category, and pales in comparison to modern efforts. Additionally, cars 30 years ago went just as fast as cars do today... they just drank more gas.

Jeep, I watched the video you linked. I thought it was a decent chase, although it was quite over the top. I guess that's just where our preferences differ. Still...
Bullitt definitely isn't the greatest car chase scene to date, but you certainly can't call it bad.
