It's one of those games, where people up the difficulty by exploiting glitches. Which is cool if you can do it, but you are not longer playing with the designers' intended.

I've been playing various Mario hacks on and off for a few months, most of them suck except for the Mario Adventure SMB3 hack. Super Mario XXXX is kinda cool because it has Music like Mega Man and weird looking custom animation, but other than that its stale like the rest of them. Mario Bash is really hard too. Most of them seem stale. Mushroom Nightmare has shifted notes so the whole familar mario song sounds evil. Anybody know of a site that has fun hack to play? I'm sick of graphic swaps / difficulty increasement slapped on familiar old Mario 1.
Oh, I did find a completely demented patch for SMAS that mods SMB3, I am litterally stuck after the 2nd stage. I cant remember what its called right now though. If I can remember what it's called I'll buy the first person to either debunk it's claim to be a functioning game or beat it a beer.

Are you sure those are hacks? The game play is the same pretty much. They seem more like mods.

The first one was probably a mod, but the second one is definitely a hack.

It just looks like they changed the graphics on the second one. Half the enemies are the same.
