Microsoft's Peter Moore has walked out of Microsoft, where he was king in charge of the Xbox 360 console.
Moore took over Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division, after MS's shy and retiring CEO Steve "There is a kind of hush" Ballmer made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Before that he was a big wheel at SEGA.
Moore has done well at MS and managed to get the Xbox 360 a large chunk of market share at the expense of Sony's Playstation.
However, it is fairly clear that all was not well with Moore lately. He missed a few sales targets and there was the small matter of the Xbox 360 having huge warranty problems on his watch which look set to cost Bill Gate's company a billion or so.
It does not look like he has been given the push and will stay at his office until August. Officially he has had enough of Redmond and wants to move back to the San Francisco Bay area to live with his family.
He has taken a job as the head of EA Sports which is based in San Francisco. Taking on what looks like a poisoned chalice at Microsoft is Don Mattrick.
