Microsoft's Peter Moore has walked out of Microsoft, where he was king in charge of the Xbox 360 console.

Moore took over Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division, after MS's shy and retiring CEO Steve "There is a kind of hush" Ballmer made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Before that he was a big wheel at SEGA.

Moore has done well at MS and managed to get the Xbox 360 a large chunk of market share at the expense of Sony's Playstation.

However, it is fairly clear that all was not well with Moore lately. He missed a few sales targets and there was the small matter of the Xbox 360 having huge warranty problems on his watch which look set to cost Bill Gate's company a billion or so.

It does not look like he has been given the push and will stay at his office until August. Officially he has had enough of Redmond and wants to move back to the San Francisco Bay area to live with his family.

He has taken a job as the head of EA Sports which is based in San Francisco. Taking on what looks like a poisoned chalice at Microsoft is Don Mattrick.

So Peter Moore is going to work for EA.

Guess what Don Mattrick's last real job was? President of EA.

Nothing like industry inbreeding.

I read an interview with that guy when the 360 was just coming out, basically what was said was something along the lines of, "We'll do whatever we can to sell this console." You'll do whatever you can to sell something, now how about if it doesn't explode every 5 seconds and has something fun on it?

I have no problem with the 360, and have seen several games I would genuinely like for it.

That being said, I'm very doubtful that the ex-president of EA "Fuck you in the ass" games is going to bring fresh exciting gamplay at reasonable prices to the Xbox.

I love my 360, and it has some fun ass games, but i'm on my third system. It's like they were in the home stretch and a giant red LED came up and hit them in the nuts. At least repairs are free.

I hope this EA guy doesn't turn Xbox into a dillhole.

Well come on, in all fairness, he didn't say "I will do anything I can to make fun games for this console that won't explode."
