I always liked the Genesis sound. You can always tell a Genesis game just from the music.

Yeah, once you listen to the Genesis version long enough and then hear the SNES version, it's almost like you've been almost deaf your whole life but never knew it and now you can suddenly hear fully.

The SNES sound is clearly better, but I think I like the Genesis more though. It's like coming out of the closet.

I have absolutely nothing to back this up with, but I get the feeling that for a lot of developers, the focus was on the SNES version and the Genesis version was kind of an afterthought.

well, if you have one system thats better than the other, you have three options:
1- develop two different games with the same license, that take advantage of each system's strengths (like Konami did with Tiny Toons and Ninja turtles).
2- make an awesome game for the better system, then try to cut as little as possible to make it work on the other console.
3- make a game that's not as good as it could have been, and just port it to both consoles.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

Yes. Buster Busts Loose and Buster's Hidden Treasure is also a good example, as is Sparkster. Pretty much anything Konami did.

^ in those instances, I almost always prefer the Genesis version. But I usually played the SNES version years afterward, so that may taint my judgment.

Cause that's how I roll bounce. |

"Blast Processing" is marketing-speak for "Ooops, Sonic runs too fast for the screen to keep up. How can we explain this?"

It's sarcasm. We know this. You said it last time somebody made jokes about Blast Processing, too.
