I'll pretend you didn't mention the accessorizing thing.
Market share = only game in town, they had such a monopoly they could force 3rd party developers to play game.
It wasn't called playing video games, it was called playing Nintendo.
and you can't deny that it is much MUCH more comfortable to use the wand and hold it like a tv remote than to hold it sideways. It doesn't do that well at all. |
I actually like the wiimote as an NES controller.

This is what happens when you release a graphically inferior next-gen system. All you get from third-parties is shovelware and half-baked last-gen ports.
Don't get me wrong: the Wii is awesome. The problem is many developers don't take it seriously, enough.

Well great, I'm glad that both of you like it for NES games. When they start churning out lots of fantastic new 3rd party NES games for Wii I'll be the first person to jump on the bandwagon. Whoopdy freaking doo!!!
So thats the draw that 3rd party developers have to the Wii!
"Well you can play them thar NES games on it"
"Really? not shit?! well... lets port Call of Duty 4 and Final Fantasy 13 and hey lets go crazy lets put Mass Effect and Soul Calibar 4 on there too."
"Uhh, well we can't do that... you see it only has 2 buttons that are in a reasonable place for your thumb to reach."
"really?! well thats retarted!"
Seriously, last time I checked this particular thread was about NEW 3rd party games that would, you know, be on the Wii, not Jaws on NES

Agreed, but Jaws for the NES was fun in my eyes.

First of all, I believe I mentioned Super Paper Mario. You know, the Wii game.
Secondly, how many buttons does Final Fantasy need? Like two? FFXIII could easily be ported to the Wii without control issues.
Thirdly, CoD3 was on the Wii, with highly satisfying results. CoD5 is currently slated for a Wii release as well. It's conceivable that CoD4 will get one as well.

I think that belittling the Wii is ridiculous. In terms of the graphics, yes the hardware isn't out of the box as good as what the PS3 or XBOX 360, but look at a great 3rd party game, The Conduit. I know not out yet, but it looks sweet as hell, and that team that developed it said their next game will look even better, and promise that they can graphically make things just as good on the Wii as on the XBOX 360, direct quote there. I know we have to see it to believe it, but I love the Wii, and like that I had the money after buying it to buy games, unlike the PS3, and that I didn't have to send it back 4 times like my brother did his XBOX 360. If you want great 3rd party games, granted not as many as other systems, but No More Heroes, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, Manhunt 2, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (great on the rails shooter), and so on. I can't wait for Madworld.

here's the thing too. Unless you have HDTV, 360 only looks marginally better than the Wii.

Everyone says that, but I honestly think the 360 looks just as good on an HDTV as on a normal TV.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

And who's belittling the Wii, I love the Wii, Some of my best friends are Wii's but that doesn't change the fact the your little blanky wanky binky winky has some flaws and are perhaps the reason that 3rd party developers haven't gone crazy over developing for it.
And yes Call of Duty was a bad example but I believe FF uses all four of the buttons on the front of a Sony controller. You need them to control the camera and what not.
quite frankly King, I think your rediculous for calling me rediculous. Belitteling?! are you high?! we are talking about an inanimate object not the Pope or Seinfeld or something. You act like I'm an affront to all truths that you hold dear in life and thats pathetic. Have a nice day!

Fair enough. but every system has its flaws. It's just frustrating, you know? The Wii uses the exact same business model as the DS (appease fanboys, win back old fans, create new gamers) and there is a huge disparity in the third party support between the two. Despite initial reservations, developers have gone on to create many fantastic titles for the DS. The fact that it's taking longer for that to happen with the Wii is annoying.

The remote has useable six buttons: 1,2, plus, minus, A and B. The nunchuck adds two more.

It does indeed have 6 buttons, I just dont think all of them are easily accessible, particularly the the plus minus but I had forgotten about the triggers on the nunchuk.
nah that was directed at the guy who was acting like I had taken his mother out to a nice seafood dinner and never called her again.

Dude, you were defaming the good name of Nintendo, and I couldn't have it. You think I'm ridiculous? You can't even spell ridiculous as evident by your posts. As well, pathetic, please, you compared Seinfeld to a parent or a religous leader, I think you are high! Granted it is just an object, and maybe I was fired up a bit, but seriously I am no more out there on this one then you. Have a nice day, how about you have a fun weekend Chief!

The history of debate:
Syd asks if El Guapo's high.
El guapo seemingly takes offense.
King feels the Wii is being belittled and finds it ridiculous
El Guapo finds King ridiculous and asks if he's high.
King seemingly takes offense.
King calls El Guapo ridiculous.
Syd does the robot.
El Guapo crushes his enemies by raining down a plethora of pinatas on them, crushing them...crushily.
Circle of life, man.

It's the internet. No one can spell.
He's not the best speller, but I can tell you that Plethora is a very well-spoken, well-read individual in real life with a marked penchant for high culture.

QFT. Don't let Plethora's posts fool you. It's also a lot better than it used to be, as back in the days of using AOL dialup, he would converse in what we referred to as "Plethora-speak" (replacing plethora with his real name, but you get the idea) because the typos were so abundant it could only be categorized as its own language.

Besides, you knew what each word was anyways. Function over form friends!
Besides for the most part I write from work where I really don't have the time to proofread.
Thank you Sid, kudos also for not having a picture of either Adam Worlock or an Adam Worlock clone on your posts.

First of all it's Adam Warlock. Secondly, it's called brand loyalty. I have no delusions about what Nintendo is or does. They are a business like any other, however, it doesn't mean that I can't have not only a preference for a particular video game console manufacturer, but have quite and affinity for them as well. It is just like people that have a love for a particular car company(s) or clothing. Also, in terms of being asked if I was 5, I would say ask why are you not loyal to brands, to which you may have a good answer, but it would still not give cause to hate on someone for being so to a particular company. Also, in terms of Hyperbole, please, I am sure you masturbate to the half naked picture of George all the time. That being said, this thread as to be about the Wii, and whereas I may have over stepped things with calling you ridiculous, however I would venture to say you decidedly went off the deep end. Also, I am not sure what to thing is, but I think that I come from quite a nice state, thank you.
Edit: Also, please don't double post.
