I remember a post a while back about some of the HotD games being released for the Wii, but couldn't find it so here's the trailer for the new HotD: Overkill.

I thought you were going to talk about a HOTD movie for a minute.

Nice 70's Grindhouse homage (Do not lecture me about Grindhouse movies because I will wreck you).

Hey, I'm generally a big fan of the 70's exploitation look.

Kickass!
I still hope they release HOTD4, with HOTD1 as a bonus feature.

There’s a lot of Wii fans worried about the decline of decent hardcore games on the system. No, guys — we’re not making a 30 hour-plus RPG here, but we are making something you are going to have a complete blast playing. We are making it with a nod to one of the greatest arcade series of all time and we hope you’ll just purely enjoy teaming up with buddies and posting those high scores on the forums with the rest of us…It’ll beat the shit out of grooming a horse. |

Are they planning on actually making the game look like a grind house movie? if thats the case, congratulations sega on doing something cool. If it's all aftereffects just for the trailer, I will be severely disappointed. Real time shadows and enhanced bump and specular mapping can lick my nuts, I want to see a game with style, not a tech demo of _____s hardware capabilities.

We got to see a live demonstration at the show, which consisted of a level set in a run-down carnival overrun with zombies. Thanks to slightly rounded corners on the screen and the overall Grindhouse visual style, Overkill stylistically appears quite a bit different than previous games in the series. At one point, I saw a Ferris wheel explode and come crashing down in front of the player, which looked extremely good for a scene in a Wii game. |
So yeah. Sounds like the game will be just as Grindhouse-y as the trailer.
I hope a new Virtua Cop game follows.

And it should be in the style of Shaft.
Or, I dunno. TJ Hooker?

Not that it'll come out here, but since it's just as newly announced as Overkill, I give you English of the Dead.

yeeeeeeeaaah, I think I'm gonna not watch that English of the dead trailer again. Kinda hurt my brain.
Overkill looks pretty sweet, though. Definitely a lot darker-looking than the past ones imo.

I think that America could be a viable market for English of the Dead. Half the people I meet in my daily life have no idea how to speak the language.
