We all have a favorite Atari, NES, SNES, Genesis, PC game that we feel should have a remake, or at least a proper sequel. After reading a preview for Fallout 3, I am actually genuinely excited. Being an old fuck that doesn't own ANY next gen consoles, I feel way behind, and so far have not had a reason to buy one. Call me picky, but playing them at a friends house is cheaper.

Anyways, Pilotwings is an obvious pick for the Wii.

Jungle Hunt could be remade in so many ways.

And a new Ghouls and Ghost (Ghost and Goblins..whatever) could help totally reinvent the platformer.

My choices might not ring well with everyone, but fuck it....what's your idea's fella's?

Kid Icarus and Punch-Out have both been heavily rumored for the Wii.

GoldenEye 64 almost got a remake as an XBLA game.

It got a remake, of sorts at least for the PSP. I owned it for a bit and its 2.5 D. Its really fun, new yet keeps the original feel and difficulty. Check it out, its called Ultimate Ghouls n Ghosts.

I think that a remake of Food Fight for the 7800 would be fun, as long as they dont fuck with it so much.

Choplifter? How about Space Harrier?

Jesus, there are a ton of them! Burgertime, Kung-Fu, Moon Patrol, Montezuma's Revenge are among the many that I'd like to see get the shiny, spiffy XBOX remake treatment.

Oh, and Nintendo, C'MON guys! Kid Icarus would be great. Could we also get a new ExciteBike? What about Mach Rider, Ice Hockey, Ice Climber, Donkey Kong Country, etc. etc. etc. ARE WE EVER GOING TO GET ANOTHER EARTHBOUND!? And YOU, Rare. Is Conker getting another game? Maybe another Jet Force Gemini. Perfect Dark? What the fuck have you guys been doing over there at Microsoft. Some Banjo Kazooie racing thing!? Suck my balls, Rare. Seriously.

I agree with you on Earthbound. Come on, Nintendo, Japan gets three Earthbound games and we only get one? Come on.

Mach Rider was pretty mediocre, though, in my personal opinion.

Asteroids had a neat remake on the PS1, I wouldn't mind seeing a new one on the Xbox Live Arcade.

Again, there is one. At least its Asteroids Deluxe. It has three or four different modes. I like it.

Not too long ago I was thinking how cool it might be if they brought back the Road Rash series. I think now would be a great time to revive it.

How about "Rampage" for the NES? Imagine better graphics and adding 300 MORE levels of the same thing over and over. It would be pretty sweet, huh?

They did remake "Crystalis" for the GBC with lackluster results. I agree that that game has excellent potential; potential that exceeds what they did to it, for sure. A sequel would own them all.

I know it's a newer game and thus might not count, but "Legend of Mana". They should remake it to live up to the Mana name. At least make it something more than a barrage of mini-quests coupled with a less-than-inspired storyline.

One more. Official remakes for the "Ultima Underworld" games that work on XP. Those games are topnotch. I'd say make them for Vista, but that would tantamount to a pipe dream I believe...

Einhänder.

It's an obscure PS1 side-scrolling shooter made by Squaresoft and is easily one of the best games for the console. It has huge potential for a remake.

I would also list Kirby Super Star, but a remake has been confirmed for the DS.

Actually, come to think of it, Kirby Dreamland 3 deserves a remake. The game doesn't get enough recognition, which is a shame since it's just as good as Super Star.

I agree with JEW about Battle Arena Toshiden, that game was all sorts of PS1 Ownage. Jaguar, Kirby Dreamland 3 was better but not better then Kirby Adventure. I really wish they made a remake of a little game I like to call PITFALL.

they have remade pitfall. they remade it on the SNES + Genesis calling it the Mayan Adventure (which was quite fun imo)

they also made pitfall 3d on the PS1 or PS2 (i cant recall exactly)

and recently they made pitfall harry jr. or some BS like that where the protagonist looks cartoony

Oh yeah, that PC one called Pitfall : The Lost Expedition. That one doesnt deserve the Pitfall name. Even though its bunches of fun. I will make one suggestion in which I will be hated for it, ET for the Atari 2600, I know you all hated it but that was a pure classic and I just wish they remade it.
