Well, school was cancelled because of hurricane fay, so i'm stuck at home, and i was wondering has anyone else every been through a hurricane?

I have, but kind of in the "wimpy" way. When you're 75 miles from the coast hurricanes are just really bad windstorms. They do most of their damage off the storm surge.

I live in michigan. all we get is a fuckload of snow from thanksgiving to the first of marchish. good luck to ya.

Lucky bastard. Upstate NY's snow starts in October half the time. If we're lucky, it's mostly melted by the time May rolls around. Even better, it's usually 20 fuckin' degrees below zero.

I lived in Louisiana long enough to be just missed by Hugo and Andrew and about 50 miles north of Katrina. If it hits there the day after is surreal.
