Come too Ontario and we can boat out to Manitulin Island, big enough for everyone, small enough that we could eradicate the infected easily, there is a bridge to the mainlan we may want to destroy first.
If it doesn't work out, there are plenty of smaller islands in the area, and chances are they may not get infected, with cottages already set up, supplies would then be the only issue.

Outbreaks will spread outwards from police stations and hospitals, any bit or injured goes to the hospital, and anyone running around maniacally chewing on their fellow citizens will probably end up in the back of a squad car, so stay away from hospitals and police stations.

blackout speaks truth.
I will say though, a jail cell is a fantastically safe place. the only problem is you'll starve to death or go crazy.
I was sitting at work today, and it occurred to me that a local sams club would be fantastic if you were close enough to the store to act quickly. I would hop on a forklift and start dropping heavy pallets full of merchandise like tvs and shit in front of the entrance and exit doors (glass doors, but tehy're small and there are only two of them, both in the front of the store). then I'd go lock down the recieving bay (it has a metal cage that shuts it out form the rest of hte store.) after that, the only way in or out is through the fire exits, and those don't open fro mthe outside. I could easily barricade those using the stuff in the store, including the steel that's used to build shelving. the store has no windows, so that's an easy bet.
there would probably be a lot of people in the store shopping when shit goes down, but it would be easier to dea lwith than a mall. the tall steel would make an excellent escape plan. I'd build walkways bridging the aisles, and have a ladder to climb up there (zombies can't climb ladders, remember). this way if the zombies to break in, I have some breathing room to deal with the problem and formulate a plan, or to jsut get to the roof and escape.
hopefully when the zombies start feasting, someone would have been smart enough to make sure the vendor door in recieving would be locked down, and I could open the cage that shuts recieving out. the vendor door is the only ground level entryway in recieving, except for where hte truckers come in, and that's a steel door thats locked at all times. there are usually 18 wheelers docked to the store, and those can easily be used to leave the store to gather supplies or find more survivors, or even pack them full of everyone who's inside to transport them. the truck docks are elevated, so openign those to do stuff woudln't be too much of a problem, because once again, zombies can't climb.
on the supply end, the store should have everything needed to keep a bunch of people alive for a very long time, there are even gas powered generators in case thigns get THAT bad.

IF you've got any hard copy proof it is your Sydlexian duty to scan it and upload it and post it in this thread.

We have a plan, but it's not written down. Hell, we don't even have the location of the fire exits written down.

If I ever own my own business I will definitely have an undead contingency plan. Also I think there needs to be a sydlexia article on the zombie Armageddon and what to do in case when it happens.

I think they have a plan for zombies and UFOs in the firefighter's manual. I do not have one so I cannot say what the plan is.
My plan would be to get my 2 dogs, nightstick, flashlight, canopener, and whatever food I can fit in a jansport backpack. I would probably move more inland and away from big cities.

Basically the gist of it is to bar the doors, then find the stupidest, most vacuous waste of a human being in the store and trick him or her into going into the back. We give them a few cuts so that any zombies who managed to get into the store follow the scent of blood. Then, we use the forklift to shove them all into the trash compactor.

Zombie feces. Jeebus, that's going to stink all a crossed the world. But maybe we could use this to our advantage and uses the massive amount of undead dung to make high powered fuel. Or maybe we'll get lucky and the zombies are turned off by their own shit and we could uses it as repellent.

Just out of my curiosity, why would a colder climate be better?

yeah, I would think that a warmer climate would have the zombies breaking down faster, which would increase our survival rate.

Hey, If zombies are like sharks, then we can repel them with dead zombies. Well, deadER anyway.

I think I've decided that I'm going to branch out on my own here and keep moving. I'm going to get a car, travel the country looking for other bands of survivors that I can ambush and rob supplies from. I'll be a renegade who doesn't care about the survival of the human race over my own personal well being. I'll have no remorse or empathy. Anyone is welcome to join me but I have to warn you first, at any given time I probably will kill you once you no longer further my needs.

I think I've found the perfect place to escape the zombie onslaught.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramiden
It's pretty much just an abandoned town near the arctic circle. Not a whole lot of zombies would be wondering around there and if we learn how to mine for coal, we'll be set on energy and heat. Not to mention the Doomsday vault isn't too far away, if we can get into it then we'll have all sorts of food we can grow. It'd be the perfect place to start a community.
