QFT = quote for truth. Basically it means "I agree". It's all other another message board I go to, so I figured maybe it was universal or something.

Except you typed QTF.

i have a friend who refuses to watch sin city. he refuses because:

a) everyone in our group likes it
b) he claims he doesnt like flm noir
c) he doesnt like the 'look' of the movie

we all call him stupid because of that, but he just needs to play devils advocate for some fucking reason. that fucktwat

OOOOH, OKAY! I thought you meant to tell me that I was saying too much or something like that since I never heard of "QTF" but I have heard of "QFT". My bad, hah!

I won't see a movie in a theatre unless it's really good. I just dont think a ticket is worth 7.50 when i could rent it for a buck a month later. A movie in the cheap theatre suffices on most flicks for me.

thats why you go early and sneak in to at least 1 or 2 other movies, thus justifying the $7.50 price tag

Depends on the theaters.

Here we have 3 big chains:

Regal Cinemas = Who are $9 a movie.
Family Cinemas = Who are $7.50 a movie ($5.00 before 5pm)
Century Theaters = $9.50 ($9.75 FRI/SAT nights)

The Family is the closest to me. (About 2 blocks away), and they have 8 screens, so anything I want to see, I go there.

Well as of tomorrow afternoon I will no longer live where I am now. So hopefully it is cheaper where I move to Smile

I'm pretty much boycotting any CGI movies these days.

I'm starting to think that way too, Pixar is the only one who usually makes good CGI movies it seems, all the others tend to be lame or plain mediocre. Hollywood just seems to be wanting to completely replace cartoons with CGI.

its $7.50 or something close to that only on matinee. otherwise its around $11 or so.

either way, i understand the filmmakers feel cheated if people sneak in to other movies, but im unemployed, broke and the country is in a recession, so im stretching every buck i can.

Wow, that's a tough one. I think I only have one: I refuse to see any movie by Takashi Miike. I couldn't stomach Visitor Q, so I've made a conscious effort to avoid the rest of his oeuvre.

That being said, I totally respect the dude as a filmmaker.

You sound like you're contradicting yourself. 8D Don't write him off because of one weird movie. Visitor Q was disgusting, sure, but if you blow him off now then you're missing out on stuff like The Happiness of the Katakuris!! Or Chakushin Ari ("One Missed Call" here in the US). And Ichi the Killer. For some reason I stomached Visitor Q better than Ichi the Killer. Huh. I wonder what that says about me. Confused

I refuse to see the second Hostel movie. The first was enough. It was more than enough. In fact, if I could go back in time, I would refuse to see Hostel, too.

Holy shit guys, have the prices went up? I swear 7.50 or 8 or something. And around here we've got Marcus Theatres monopolizing the city. I think a CEC theatre is going up sometime but i dont know. I would never pay 10 bucks to see a movie in a theatre. Not even if its really good. I can wait for the cheap seats.

oh yeah in response to this:

I doubt I'll see the new CGI Star Wars movie. I just rewatched Episode 3. I forgot how much of a drawn-out, pompous, boring piece of shit movie that was.

I like 1 the best out of the prequels. Granted it had Jar Jar, but it also had some semblance of plot and a damn good lightsaber fight at the end.

Empire Strikes Back is still the best Star Wars movie, though.
