Wait, so which one are you talking about? The 2D remake on the Wii Shop channel or the actual 3D sequel?

Nintendo recently rejected the original Bionic Commando for release on the Virtual Console. No reason was given. If it has something to with the exploding Hitler head, couldn't they just give it an MA rating?

I think it's because the game came out on Capcom Classics Mini Mix a couple years back. Also, I've never heard of the remake.

I've heard of the remake. And I have Capcom Classics Collection. It's got the arcade Bionic Commando, which is way different than the NES game.
EDIT- oh the mini mix is for GBA, I may have to buy it now that i see it. Strider, Mighty Final Fight and Bionic Commando? Hmmm i dont know.

I'm guessing he's talking about the 2D one since the other one isn't out yet. Also, the 2D remake is only for XBLA, PSN and PC.

My verdict for this game:
Pros:
-Fucking awesome.
-FUCKING awesome.
-FUCKING AWESOME.
-Besides being the sequel to the best platformer ever made, it seriously has just flat out awesome gameplay. I would still say it stands alone as one of the best games ever made, regardless of it being a remake.
-The co-op mode is ballza fun.
-Blocking projectiles with the bionic arm is more fun than ever, because you can now stop rockets in mid-flight, resulting in a badass explosion.
Cons:
-I feel like getting as good as I did at Bionic Commando for NES specifically trained me to fuck up at this game. Little tricks that used to save your ass can now get you hurt more. In the NES game, if you hit down on the d-pad during a swing you would instantly dismount and fall downwards in an arc. In Re-Armed, you get a slight upswing if you try to dismount mid-swing, unless you did a max distance arm grab. The upwards arc you have after pressing down to dismount from a swing commonly smashes you into enemies on a floor above you, causing much frustration and loss of painfully scarce health. This makes you have to play MUCH more precisely, which in turn can be frustrating but simultaneously can be rewarding when done right.
-In the NES Bionic Commando, Jumping on an enemy's head used to make you do a sort of jump in whichever direction you were facing when you fell on them. I guess they removed this because they thought it was annoying to get thrown to the sides when you fall on enemies. In Re-Armed you get a wimpy ass sideways movement and typically fall INTO them, hurting yourself. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the stun time from landing on an enemy's head is ridiculously short compared to the NES version, so even if you manage to fall away from the enemy, they're typically already walking around again, which 50% of the time is directly into you. Maybe I just need to shoot the crap out of guys after landing on their heads, but that's fucking dumb. I liked the longer stun and bounce from the NES version better, and commonly used it for extra air when doing leap-of-faith arm grabs, or just to evade enemies.
-You can't even kick guys non-fatally when swinging without the Iron Boots, which you do get fairly early in the game, but it's still frustrating not being able to instantly knock guys around.
-The Health bar is a fucking lie. You die in about 2 or 3 hits.
-I miss the level up system for HP, if nothing else for the nice sounds it made when you picked up the bullets or leveled up.
-There are some cheap moments such as getting stun locked into grenade explosions and just getting instantly raped.
Overall:
Buy the fucking game or you're a complete loser piece of shit with zero taste in good games who should kill themselves.

I like your review better than GameTrailers.
