oh and balrog is all about pressure, and dudley is all about mind games. the only thing the two have in common is boxing gloves. |
Dudley doesn't have the range or speed Balrog has, so obviously he has to sit back and think.

For sure.
Plus Guile has the hair, and it always comes down to hair.

Speaking of Generic Bosses in fighting games I think Blaze from Mortal Kombat Armageddon takes the cake.

yah, should street fighter go the same route and put every single character from other SF games into this one?
And check this out, during an SF browsing, i found this:
Look familiar? I always wondered where robot gumshoe got the image from:

I liked how Q was so hulking and brutish. I loved his punches and his overall animation.

GET HIM, CL! Yah he looks hard to control, slow but if you can get the timing right, his blows look lethal. And i like how you said he suck yet you show a video of him winning

After reading through this topic:
1. Yeah, I'm becoming less interested in the game as it goes on. As someone from my other forum put it, it's basically Ultra Street Fighter II -- it's Super Turbo, but with the new chars replaced by other new chars. I'll wait and see...
2. I like Dudley better than Balrog 'cause at least I can do his moves.
3. KoF is awesome, my faves being '95, '98, and XI. Once XII comes out early next year, it will completely KILL this game. I mean, it's set to have the most beautiful sprite animation in history.
4. Akuma's in it, most likely. He was in one of the trailers, fighting Ryu.
5. If SF4 was done my way, it would take place after III, Only 5 of the big 12 wil return, some from III, and the rest completely new chars. Plus I would have the advanced techs (parrying, etc) back in.
6. Actually, Rufus struck me as looking like Cheng Sinzan from the Fatal Fury games, only with different clothes and hairdo.
7. I liked Charlie better than Guile myself, but I take what I can get.
8. How does Q suck? he got the highest def. power in the game if you do his taunts. In the matches I've played, he's certainly no slouch either with his attacks.

I'm beginning to get tired of seeing the big twelve. I wish Capcom would use some obscure characters, like, say, Eagle (bad example since he kind of sucks, but you get the idea.)
In fact, I'm beginning to hate the big 12 (excluding Balrog and Sagat). I mean, sure, it's a balanced set of characters, but I would rather see some new faces than see the same people with a fresh coat of paint.

I don't mean Q sucks gameplay wise. I mean he's a stupid cahracter.
he's jsut a guy in a trenchcoat with a robot mask. he's got no story, no fuckign WIN QUOTES, no ending, no bio, no nothing. what's the purpose?

and yeah, it would be cool to have new cahracters (you know, to CONTINUE the mythos) and then have the world warriors as unlockables.
they do stuff like this in soul calibur. they've got their base stable of guys, with new people replacing old to advance the story.gameplay wise they bring their own bits to the table while still retaining the basic style of the old character. then the old cahracters are unlockable with some sort of crapshit story added to make them existing in that game makign sense. for example, maxi replaced li-long, cassandra replaced sophitia, astaroth repalced rock, nightmare replaced sigfried, killik repalced seoung mi-na, yeoung-sung replaced hwang, ect. ect. ect.

He's basically a reference to one of those terrible live action guy in costume fights a rubber monster. He DOES have an ending, where some police detectives ponder on why this character is present at all of the matches. They leave the room and his shadow appears. He might be one of those observation robots that appeared in the animated movie, he might be the bald guy that was in the ending, or he might just be a random insert.
They probably could have fleshed him out a bit more. Q is for question, but you need at least a thread to latch onto.
He does kinda suck. Even if you do three personal actions and bump his defense, fighting games favor characters that are quick. Better than sean.

the deal with playing as him is that you have to be VERY VERY VERY careful. everythign has to be splaced perfectly, and you really need to know when to zig and when to zag. personally I don't have the patience for that, and often just try to paly him as a pressure character like balrog. it doesn't work well.
I will fuck your life up as sean in third strike.

The thing I liked about SF III was that it didn't try to be SF II, it broke away from that and was it's own game. SF IV looks like it wants to be II.
