I've got two.
Don Mudelone - Monster Rancher 4
Has super powerful attacks that always hit, and he loves to spam them. He blocks almost every attack, and if you lose, you have to repeat the whole fucking dungeon over again. I'm pretty sure my skin was literally boiling, as mad as I was.
and
Fighting Big Zam on hard mode as Gundam Maxter - Gundam battle assault 2
You can't get within 400 feet of him before he molests you with missles, lasers, and feet. If you do try to use your special attack, the game suspicously makes you do an attack that has a very long charge-up time. I litterly broke my Playstation over this guy. Bought another one for 5 bucks at a garage sale, so it was all good.

Wart in SMB2/Doki Doki Panic. I tried everything: walking into him, jumping on him... NOTHING FUCKING WORKS!

I'm going to assume sarcasm here, but the lack of emoticons makes me fearful.
Um..., the first thing that comes to mind is Yellow Devil from the original Megaman. It took me awhile to hone my dodging skills enough to beat him.

Not quite sarcasm... sarcasm has a rather vicious connotation to it and I wasn't trying to be mean.

Yeah, Yellow Devil was kind of a bitch in MM. He wasn't as bad in MM3 because you had the slide. And energy tanks.
Pretty much any Metal Slug end boss is pretty ridiculous. And Ganon in the original Legend of Zelda. Fucking invisible bastard.

Astroboy omega factor, on hard mode. Some rock guy who summoned meteors, and took forever to defeat. It had been years since a boss made me struggle like that. I believe it took me six months. Keeping in mind I played it only when waiting for something.
Thats the most difficult that I can remember at the moment.

Chaos on FF1 was suprisingly easy, though. Only took one try.

Emerald and Ruby weapon from Final Fantasy VII
(Although if you knew what to do and were willing to put in the time, they're actually very easy.)

M. Bison in SF alpha 3, he's hard because you only get ONE TRY to beat him, or you instantly get a game over with NO chance to continue.

I'd say the boss from Battletoads is hard, but the game itself was so hard I don't think anyone anywhere ever got to the boss without having some sort of Game Genie shit going on anyway.

Capcom did that in the arcade a lot I think. If I recall, you only got one shot at Apocalypse, Onslaught, and the MVC2 guy. I could be remembering wrong though. No reason to continue at that point anyway. You get no play value for your quarter.

I seem to remember screwing up countless times against Fat Man in MGS2.

Fatman?! PFFT, he was a cinch.
Metal Gear Ray was the hardest boss in that game, and even on expert mode I could beat him taking less than 2 hits.
Now, you wanna talk hard bosses, you should try the new madden game!
Just kidding. I would have to agree with whoever posted Emerald and Ruby weapon.
I now know how to beat them because I downloaded a PC version of that game just to try repeatedly and adopt some kind of strategy, which thankfully, paid off. It took a while though.

Mortal Kombat sub-bosses have always given me more problems than the final boss

Any Final Fantasy boss, sub-boss, or even relatively high-HP enemy who uses the Death spell like there's no tomorrow.

Goro in MK1 never gave me a problem, but he did in MK4... Kinataro and Motaro were pretty annoying too. And Moloch in MK:DA annoyed the fucking hell out of me.
Also, the two optional bosses in Final Fantasy 5, Shinryuu and Omega, were pretty ridiculous.

I'm here.
1. Any boss in Alien Soldier.
2. If anyone plays Bomberman 64, on the 2nd level of Altair's base, there's a mechanical sentry mini~boss that has a lot of attacks... It got me with some gravity sucker.. >_<
and let's not forget Golden Silver from Gunstar Heroes.
Off-topic-- the most recycled boss ever is the first Core ship in Gradius, but that is just my opinion^^

Did anyone mention the bosses in Final Fantasy V? I've heard rumors about the last two, omega weapon and shinryu. The standard bosses alone are enough to send me to the cleaners, and im no RPG pushover.

I never really had trouble with FF games.. i didn't pimp out crap either, in fact i'm the opposite i like beating FF games at the lowest level possible.. but on the weapons i agree you have to level up and certain materia, or whatever magic system is generally neccessary, and some are liek special or take forever to get... not trying ot be cocky, just can't think of a boss, plenty of hard games.. i guess Double Dragon had some pretty good bosses from what i remember as a kid... ninja gaiden, some were hard some were easy.. most were fairly easy once you recognized gthe pattern. anyone i think more wheni get chance...
Also glad this forum is still active may be fun to discuss games every once inawhile...

I had a hell of time trying to beat Psycho Mantis in MGS. It wasn't until I jumped online and found out that you had to use controller 2 to beat him. Damn, Kojima can be a real bastard sometimes.
Though, on the same token, it was really sweet that Psycho Mantis told me that I liked to play Castlevania and Suikoden by reading my memory card.
