Man, Twisted Metal 2 was the game, you definitely gotta get that. It was the first game I remember playing for about 8 hours straight on deathmatch with a few people. There was nothing like stalking your buddy and knocking him off the buildings of The Big Leap. Great multiplayer, and wtf ever happened to Singletrac?

One day, I got this PS1 game from Gamestop called Martian Gothic; it only costed three bucks, so why not take my chances? Turns out, it's actually pretty awesome; it's survival horror like Resident Evil but with less emphasis on combat and more on puzzles. Oh, and you can switch between three characters at any time.
I see that no one has mentioned Silent Hill. Tsk, tsk. I got Silent Hill about a year after I got a PS2 and it was the first game to actually scare me, even despite the outdated graphics.

They closed down eventually after being bought by GT Interactive, but then several former employees formed a new company named Incognito. So far they've made Twisted Metal Black and it's later sequels, Downhill Domination, War of the Monsters, and Warhawk on PS3.

The first PS1 game I ever played was Parasite Eve; I remember I played it at my friend's house who lived two houses over and I was COMPLTETELY addicted to it...that'd be another one of my faves as well.

I can't believe nobody mentioned Legend of Legaia, Legend of Mana, Star Ocean or Front Mission 3.
Silent Bomber and Elemental Gearbolt are also pretty cool.

Yeah, it's currently one of the few PS3 games that make me interested in throwing out the $400-$500 for a PS3.

That's because most American cartoonist are going to Japan to draw Hentai. |
