He's been to Princess Peach's Castle. He's been to the beach. He's been to space. What could Mario possibly do for his next 3D adventure? Here's my pitch...
 Mario Nightmares

Bowser steals a magic wand. Or a magic book. Or perhaps he steals the magic wand and book from the original LoZ. Regardless, he uses it to trap Mario in a dream dimension, a dimension where he must explore diverse, colorful mini-worlds and fight boss battles against his greatest enemies - Wario, Donkey Kong, and Bowser, as well as Wart, Smithy, Cackletta, Triclyde, and Mouser. The beauty of the idea is that allows them to do massive fan service and include enemies from all of Mario's adventures regardless of what worlds they're indigenous to, whether they're dead, whether they come from canonical games, or, in the case of Doki Doki Super Mario 2, whether they even technically exist.

Its a logical progression, after space it has to be in other dimensions.

What about mario underground? Like a journey to some deep cavern to save the hapless princess where bowser has her hidden, along the way all the dead enemies rise as zombies to fight him.

excellent idea Syd. I would buy that game...if I owned a Wii.
King's idea could work too, as long as they keep the story/graphics kid-friendly.

First off, I think Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game since Super Mario World. Whatever they do, I think one of the best things they could do is revisit old themes in new ways, which is what I loved so much about Galaxy. The pseudo-side scrolling elements, revamped theme songs, etc. They should definitely keep up with that.

I didn't have Dr. Mario in mind when typing that, but that would actually work pretty well with him being shrunk to the virus's size. Plus I always thought he looked badass in that white coat.

Since Nintendo and Sega collaborated to make Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. maybe they need to make another Mario & Sonic crossover. In it, maybe Princess Peach and Amy Rose get kidnapped by Bowser and taken to the Death Egg. Along the way, maybe Mario, Sonic and all of their friends can go on a journey to fight several enemies, including the Koopa Kids, Metal Sonic and Baby Bowser.
And it wouldn't be limited to just Mario and Sonic. Maybe Yoshi and Tails could do something together. Maybe Knuckles can drag Luigi on a quest of his own. Princess Daisy and Cream could have their own side quest, too. And maybe Princess Peach and Amy Rose would break out of their cell and explore the Death Egg.

Then again, I would kill to see a Wario World sequel with Waluigi playable, 2 player co-op, longer levels, more variety in the enemies, etc.
But this is a Mario topic, but I think Wario is close enough.

That's not a bad idea. There's only two Warios I recognize:

1. The evil antagonistic Wario from Mario Land 2

2. The greedy anti-hero from the Wario Land games and Wario World

None of this goofy Wario Ware bullshit. I was MASSIVELY disappointed that SSBB's Wario was based off Retard Wario instead of Bad Ass Wario.

I love both classic styles of Wario, the Warioware version of him is pretty cool but the only thing he has over the classic Wario is a cool biker outfit.

I actually think your idea is very good Syd. The concept fits perfectly with the series history.
I think that for the next Mario, it should be set in the future, he is recruited as a space marine ordered to kill alien koopas. The game should be reformatted to 1st person, and I would like to see good 5 minute, unskipable, cutscenes to help pan out the underdeveloped story.

Oh yeah, and the need to incorperate 4d Technologyâ„¢
