"Contestants must compete against each other for a chance to win $500,000 in a house wired with cameras and microphones, capturing their every move for a TV and Internet audience"

Now, I really hate reality TV. It has been played out to the point that it's nauseating. Honestly, most, if not all shows these days seem staged. The one and only reality show I've watched since the beginning and continue to watch is the Big Brother series.

Despite how annoying some of the cast members usually are, I like the strategy involved to win. It takes the power to efficiently lie, back stab, and manipulate the people around you. New friendships and alliances are constantly created and subsequently destroyed.

Are there any other watchers of BB on the boards? I'm talking about the US version only, I've never kept up with the original UK version. If so, we can discuss each week's episode, digest the possibilities of what's to come, and predict the outcome that Head of Household, Power of Veto, etc. brings.

If not, I'll just let this thread slowly sink deep into the bowels of the forum.

I watch BB as well, and, not unlike you, it's one of the few reality TV shows I watch.

Regarding the new season, it's only been on for two weeks, so right now the only people I can remember are Renny (the really annoying chick from New Orleans that has red hair and is really, REALLY annoying), Memphis (the guy who doesn't show emotion...whatever), and that really angry blonde chick that has beady eyes and was fighting with Libra on last Sunday's episode.

As for who's going to win, it's too early to tell, but I think that girl with the orange-ish hair and sunken eyes might - she doesn't really do anything, and nobody'll pay attention to her.

How could you not remember Jessie? The cocky professional body builder that talks about himself every time he opens his mouth. It cracked me up when they showed his Head of Household room and every picture in it was of his body or in front of his car. There was... one? of his family. Very Happy

He is such an arrogant piece of shit, I hope he goes early. The producers made fun of him at the end of last night's episode. He flexed his arm in front of the camera and said something along the lines of "God, all 18 inches of this can't even fit on the screen ahhh..."

Ugh. Die.

Have you ever watched Big Brother in Europe? It is insane over there. I was in Scotland awhile ago due to my dad getting work there, so he took my mom, my sister, and me along. I have horrible jet lag, so I end up staying up really late. So I flip on the TV one night, and there was this black and white camera feed of some people sleeping. It stayed like that for what must have been three or four hours until two of them woke up and started talking. How do I know this? I was transfixed by the screen and ended up watching it for a long time. People are that into Big Brother over there apparently.

Oh, yeah, now I remember, it usually takes me a little while to get the names down.

At first I liked Jessie, but after he won HOH it all went to his head and yeah...I thought that picture of him by himself with the uber-muscles was disgusting. How could he not be on steroids? His muscles looked like rubber! I think there was one photo of him with his family, and another with his friends.

So who do you like so far? I kind of like Keesha, and my dad likes Angie because he thinks she's hot (so I hate her). I still can't remember the name of that beady-eyed girl with blonde hair, but I can't wait for her to blow up again. Remember when she was arguing with Keesha? It was hilarious, as soon as Keesha started talking about her, the other girl spazzed out and it looked like she was gonna tear Keesha's throat out.

I think Memphis "the Mixologist" is pretty cool, and one of the most normal people on the show, despite his emotionless-ness. We'll see how long he stays like that. Very Happy

Dan is kind of a motormouth, but judging by the sneaky way he's dealt with things thus far, I think I'll like his style of game play. (Even though he's on the block as we speak.)

Your dad likes Angie, yuck. She seems like a grade-A bitch. I like Keesha too, and I kind of like April as well, even though she may be the fake barbie doll type. It's really too early to tell much about the cast.

I'm watching Big Brother After Dark on Showtime 2 right now. It's pretty interesting sometimes and gives you a lot of behind the scenes (obviously).

The first guy eliminated said Memphis was probably going to win; at first I couldn't see what he was talking about, since Memphis hasn't really done that significant, but Memphis does seem intelligent enough. I laughed when he said "I'm a mixologist, like a chef for alchoholics."

I like Dan too, he seems smart enough. What's the name of that other guy on the block? The cowboy? I kind of like him too, but not going into Jessie's room when he was showing it off was kind of asking for it.

My dad has a tendency to like women with questionable personalities, which would explain Angie. I personally hope Angie gets evicted as soon as possible, which probably won't happen because, as far as I've seen, she hasn't really made any serious enemies yet. April, yes, that's the girl. I kind of have a low tolerance for short-tempered people, and the instant she blew up at Keesha, I lost my liking for her.

My dad said that someone he works with also watches Big Brother after dark. She said that the cowboy dude (the one besides Dan who is on the block) was like crying for four hours and she couldn't figure out why. I wonder...

I like the old guy too; it'll be interesting to see how far he goes. I felt sorry for him when he was talking about how his wife has Parkinson's disease.

Steven, the cowboy guy, is the token gay dude of the show. I'm not sure why he was crying, I honestly don't remember it. So far, I don't really like his personality. I mean, even if he was "asleep" when they all went up to Jessie's room, he was awake while they were chillin' in there, so he should have went. Come on, that's just respect.

The old guy is pretty cool, even though he takes his ex-Marine status a bit too far imo. He takes it to the point of possibly giving himself away since he won't tell a lie while he's decked out in his Semper Fi gear. It is downright hilarious watching him on After Dark, because all the cast members in their 20s are acting crazy and wearing tin foil masks. battling like gladiators and shit. He just stands there with the most forced smile you've ever seen. He doesn't know what to do with himself while he watches them, haha.

Well, I watched the new episode just a few minutes ago, and here's what I've established so far:

Libra's rage is really getting on my nerves; even moreso than April's. It REALLY annoyed me when Michelle didn't use the power of veto. Speaking of which, Michelle is a complete dunce for not using it; she wants Steven to leave badly, when it's obvious that Libra is the bigger threat. "Do I look stupid?" Um, yes. At first Renny's bombastic personality got on my nerves, but she seemed to tone it down a bit and now I don't really find her all that annoying. When she and the old guy (I STILL can't remember his name, even though I finished watching it 20 minutes ago...) got in a fight with Libra, I thought Libra was sure to be put up on the block, but leave it to Michelle to blow it for everyone. My dad no longer likes Angie, because she smokes, which I think is a dumb reason to stop liking someone, but she was getting to be a bit of a jerk so I'm not complaining. Thankfully there wasn't really any attention paid to dumb old April tonight. I didn't really see Ollie, either. Dan is pretty confident that he won't be the one leaving; I personally would rather see Steven go than him.

Keesha just won Head of Household, so this following week it could go anywhere...I just hope she doesn't put up Dan, he's really the only one I want to win at this point...I hope she puts up Libra (ANNOYING) and Michelle (even MORE annoying).

Steven is a whiny little cry baby. Even when he's not bursting into tears he looks like he's going to frickin' cry. Suck it up or go home, pussy boy. Very Happy

The old guy's name is Jerry, and I thought it was pretty awesome when he flipped on Libra. I don't like her firecracker attitude either.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but I no longer like Keesha for being a dummy and falling for Steven's pity party. I'm rooting for Dan as of now because I like his tactics so far and everyone else just seems kind of... dumb at this point.

Compared to last season's, the cast of BB 10 seems like kind of a stinker. I really think they're going to need to throw some sort of twist in somewhere, because the rating are slumping already also compared to last season. Did you notice there was an empty picture frame on the wall of cast members?

Ha. Yeah, when he was evicted and they were playing Keesha's goodbye message, and he was about to cry, I felt like I was going to throw up in my mouth.

Libra was THIS close to winning Head of Household...I was relieved when she didn't. I'm kind of hoping that Keesha will put her up, but I know she won't, cause she's a bit of an idiot. Yeah, now that I think about it, the only non-dumb people I can think of at this point are Dan and...possibly Jerry. I mean, sure, he seems like everybody else, but I think that's just because he hasn't really done a whole lot yet. But I don't know, the first week Jerry seemed kind of naive, I hope he doesn't turn out to be that in the long run. I used to like Memphis, but he's all buddy-buddy with Angie and I really don't like Angie. And I do like Dan's tactics (after all, he's still in the house, so they worked).

I know what you mean about the cast. This season needs another Evel Dick. An empty picture frame? I didn't notice that...that has to mean something, because they wouldn't miss an important detail like that on accident...it's gotta be there for some purpose. Maybe that'll be the "twist" of this season?
