The first trailer for the upcoming Watchmen movie just went online: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/241236.html.

I've been waiting for this ever since they announced that there will be a Watchmen movie. And damn does it look good. Doctor Manhattan looks absolutely perfect. The only thing I don't like about the trailer is the music. Hopefully that will be better in the movie.

As long as they keep the script clean, no filler, and on point to the books, this should kick ass, and damn I am happily surprised

Wow. I can't believe how close a lot of that is to the comics. Really the only things that look different are Nite Owl and Ozymandias' costumes. Dr. Manhattan really does look great, I'm glad they went with his comic look, they could have easily thrown an X-men style jumpsuit on him instead of "blue guy with no pants" like he should be.

Judging from the flash on the official website, they did.

And here's a picture of the Minutemen:

WHAT!?

I...I gotta pick my jaw up off the floor and glue it back together, because that was so amazing that my jaw actually just fell off and shattered.

Holy fuck...Rorschach's voice...Doc Manhattan...The Comedian's death scene. It all looks so perfect.

I still, and always have, had my doubts, but this definitely killed some of them.

I fucking love trailers. They always build expectations of the movie. I'll admit i havent even heard of the Watchman since the movie become a hot topic on the forums but i never heard of hellboy before either and enjoy it, so who's to say this movie wont kick ass. Rorschach is so far peaking my interests, he looks badass.

Apparently they're going to make an animated direct-to-DVD film of 'The Curse of the Black Freighter' to be released like the Tuesday after 'Watchmen' hits theatres...I think that's the absolute best way to handle it personally.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as the first Hellboy animated movie and The Animatrix.

I can't stop watching the trailer, and looking through old watchmen stuff. As great as The Dark Knight is, if this lives anywhere near up to the trailer, it could blow every other comic movie, ever right the fuck out of the water, and really most all movies. I hope they show the relationship to the comedian that the original Silk had in full.

So he was named after a municipality? Sweet. Or maybe he was named after an inkblot test, much like his mask:

Watched the trailer again and that does it, i want to read these comics now. They better be still in print. This movie just has epic written all over it *crossing fingers*

BTW, what's the song played during the trailer?

Not only is the trade still in print for $20, there's a hardcover version coming out in September for $50 (but I'd just get the paperback). This is one of the best things I've ever read, and I'm really psyched for this movie. The actors all look too young since most of them are supposed to be in their 40's or 50's, but whatever.
