What do you do when your downloads take forever but you have no viruses or spyware?

Grab a gun and fire wildly into the air while you wait for the download. Smile

Or call your isp and demand that your dial up be replaced with something faster. Then grab a gun and fire wildly into the air.

I usually go to the bathroom or play with my toys when something takes long.

Fuck you guys! Laughing

I have DSL, but today for some reason it was running worse than dialup. Now it's back to normal.

Future options:

Power down the modem, router (if you have one) and the computer.

Wait 5 minutes.

Plug them in and turn them on.

That should help.

yeah, im w/GP on this one. i have DSL too and when its acting like a bitch, i just reset the modem by unplugging it for a while and that usually does the trick. unless the person im downloading from has a terrible connection

I usually open a whole bunch of articles on Wikipedia, then read while it's downloading

DSL modems also reset if you change their PVC settings OR just clicking the save settings button on PVC configuration page. That should probably help without unplugging the power.
