Clockwork Nights one and two are very fun games, at least to me. Also, if you can find this game I'd recommend it highly; Burning Rangers. You're a futuristic firefighter. It's pretty good.

The Saturn is my 2nd favorite system of all time. Very underrated machine. Also, Loaded is some ok fun to be had if you can find it.
You should have told me about that game sooner. I saw it at the same used game shop I bought my Saturn in. Shocked

Anyway, I agree with you on the Saturn being underrated. In fact, I wish I got it much sooner than I did.

I really miss my Saturn (got robbed from me with my TG16 a few years back). My favorites:

D
In the Hunt
Last Bronx
Die Hard
Magic Carpet (really rare)
Panzer Dragoon I, II, and Saga
Mr. Bones
Shinobi Legions
House of the Dead (Light Gun may be hard to find)
Astal

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Also, get yourself the RAM add on and get any and every fighting game (mostly 2d) that you can get your hands on.

If you can get a 4 MEGS RAM Cart you can play SNK's King of Fighters '96 and '97. Also, there's a Japanese release of Street Fighter ZERO 3, which contains a lot of characters and loads of fun; supports 4 MB RAM module. But it doesn't require it; extra RAM makes the game load the data much sooner.

The only odd about the RAM module thing is that you'll need a 1 MB RAM cart for King of Fighters '95. It doesn't support the 4 MEGS one. I don't know if the 4 MB RAM cartige was released for the States; I have a Japanese version of it. But maybe you can get the Action Replay cartige for Saturn. Which features a 4 MEGS RAM and a region lock out thingy together. Pretty cool thing if you ask me.

I can say that if you like arcade games, especially the fighting ones, a Sega Saturn is a good buy which always worths it. I can't get a NEO GEO AES myself, so I really enjoy Saturn. You can also find Sunsoft's great 2D fighting titles such as Waku Waku 7; kinda radical game and I think it inspired Guilty Gear series.

I might have to look for a RAM cart, then.

Do you plan to play CDR games on Saturn ? I'd be glad to write about my experience of it.

Okay. Well we should first find out which Saturn version you have. There are two main models. They are called Model 1 and 2. The Model 1 Saturns have oval power and reset buttons and the Model 2 ones have round buttons. So it's easy to find out which.

If you have a Model 2 Saturn, probably you won't be able to pull the swap trick (I could succeed only 5 of 50 tries). It requires a lot of practice. Since the CD ACCESS led light isn't helping too.

If you have a Model 1 Saturn, here's the how to;

You should find a good source for the CDR images first. I use a private Torrent tracker called the Underground Gamer. I can find many SS titles. I have invitations too.

After getting the image, a region fix should be made on the image. I use the SRP (Saturn Region Patcher). It works very well too. After the fix, you can burn the image on a CD, but it's recommended to burn it around 8x speed.

Then it comes to the swap trick. It's quite easy actually. But you'll first need to open your console and tape a lever-switch which reports the system about Saturn's CD drive door is open/closed. You'll just need to unsecrew the top cover of SS. The switch is just there.

Now the console won't break operation even the CD door is open. Means we can pull the trick now.
Put your CDR game in the drive and power the system on. The Sega Saturn splash screen will appear, then you'll hear the (probably) lens cradle moving. Also, the CD ACCESS led will flash once. Now remove your CDR and put an original CD on the drive. The cradle will move and shorty, the ACCESS led will flash three times. Now remove your original CD and put the CDR back on. That's it.

Wow. I'm amazed that you folks actually remember the Saturn. My idiot father insisted that the Saturn was going to revolutionize video gaming and that it was going to be worth millions of dollars later on. One day, I came home from kindergarten and ran to the living room to sit on my ass and play F-Zero, and found out that he sold my SNES system for a Saturn. I'll never forgive him for that.

Anyway...

Best games I had for it were:
-A Clockwork Knight
-Gex
-Mr. Bones
-The Horde
-Panzer Dragoon
-Rayman
-Blazing Dragons (point-and-click adventure game, but absolutely awesome)
-Virtua Fighter 2

I had about five different hockey games and a few other sports games. My collection kind of sucked, now that I think about it.

Mansion of Hidden Souls tried to incorporate Myst into a sort of friendly haunted mansion thing, but it was awful. It was creepier than it was supposed to be, too. But it was terrible. I don't care what anyone else says.
