Seriously, I'm starting WoW again after a few weeks of not playing. Anybody else play WoW?

Same. I played WoW for 2 years, and wanna know the funny thing, I NEVER MADE IT TO FUCKING LEVEL 60. Ever, its a grindfest boring ass game that I hate nowadays. I do play an occasional MMO like Soldier Front and the trial of Everquest just for fun, but thats it.

M3GA MAN why do you change your fucking avatar and sig so much? To something that's nearly the same thing every time? And your nick is M3GA MAN, not Blooper, and what happened to your permanent hard-on for Kirby?

Hey, I think it is cool that he makes so many avatars and sigs. They kick ass, esp Blooper. You don't fuck with Blooper.

FFS I have to post my rules when changing avatars and signatures. Ok I made these rules for the sole purpose of switching avatars and signatures. Before I post the rules for when I change my ava and sig. I didn't change my avatar and sig from the last thing they were, all I did was invert them so they look cooler.
1. I switch my avatar because I start a new game.
2. I switch my avatar when I think the main character or side characters are awesome.
3. I switch my avatar and sig when I find an enemy in the game I'm playing that kicks so much ass it deserves a spot in my Avatar and Signature.

Why exactly does it suck then? I never seen any reasons around here.

np mate, I just always went by those rules I made up, I might make it also go for TV or movies but eh Im not sure. Games are alot cooler concept to do it around.
EvilGoomba - Trust me I played WoW for 2 1/2 years and Its boring, I mean in one year you could easily have 3 60's or 3 70's now with the new 20-60 easier leveling up thing. But it gets boring after a while, and once you hit that point theres 3 things you can do.
1. Keep on playing because its so fun to talk leetzor pwnage and raid and grind shit.
2. You can cancel the account and at some later time you can start it up again and it might or might not be fun.
3. You can never ever touch the game again and sell your account for a good amount of money.
Trust me if you have 3 70's on 1 account and there in full epic armor (purple named for people who dont know) you can make about 1000-2000$ on that. On like 1 60 you could make like 100-500 depending on gear, and 1 70 about 600-900ish depending on gear.

i hate paying $15/month for working. thats what it feels like. you start off 'paying your dues' by doing a bunch of BS tasks. and then you get promoted and start doing dungeons. but you cant do the cool ones again until you get promoted again. by the time you get the ultimate promotion you are tired of the game and competing w/10 other people for a fucking epic shoelace, or business card.

Oh ya thats right, BULLSHIT FUCKING P2P. I understand they want money, but I only played WoW because my brother made it seem like it was so fuckin awesome. Its really not, its just a boring ass game where you you do exactly what username said and you have to pay 15 bucks a month, I would rather play the fucking WoW trial if anything more just to play it so you dont have to play. Thats why now if I play an MMO it has to be F R E E or Free to play with things you can buy for money like additonal items that increase stats like Nexon's Maplestory buying items with Gpoints or whatever which is actually your money put into a game format.

I'm staying far away from WoW. It recently sucked my cousin in. Good thing he already has a lot of free time, or WoW would see to it he gets it.

Even when I downloaded all the shit to play WOW on a free server, I still couldn't play it for more than 2 hours. I just can't get into it. There is no plot, and it's nothing but grinding.
I feel that way about most MMOs in general, yet I keep buying them, hoping to find one I can really get into.
The record holder for me is Star Wars Galaxies, which I played for about two months. Everything else, I couldn't play for more than a week. And it's a pretty healthy list:
Ultima Online
Everquest I & II
Final Fantasy XI
City of Heroes/Villians
Dungeons & Dragons Online
Phantasy Star Online
Anarchy Online
The Matrix Online
9Dragons
RuneScape
Ragnarok Online
Lineage
Guild Wars
The Lord of the Rings Online
And, just last week I bought Age Of Conan. So far, it's okay, but then again I am still at the beginning solo questing part of the game, where they is a pretty decent story and I don't have to worry about anyone else fucking with my expirence. We'll see how things go when I hit level 20, and go out into the "real" world of Conan.

Oh ya I forgot to mention SWG to Gooma Guy in the private message, that game can be summed up in 3 words. SWG Fucking Rocks. Also forgot to mention COH/COV which also kicks alot more ass than WoW. Age of Conan looks ok, Im not gonna buy it because I like to get my games free.

Games like WoW get really old once you hit a certain age and realize your old enough to actually live in the real world and be able to do the things you werent able to do as a kid. That episode of South Park mocking WoW was damn funny, but at one time me and my other friends would gladly stay in a basement leveling up eating ramen and hotpockets because we were young and it was so damn fun.
My friend Brandon's dad worked at a hospital at night and spend his whole days off work and afterwork playing Everquest. He would smoke pot, drink and would be on the computer for hours and hours. I thought it was so damn cool at the time, but I realized when I got older that addictive habits cost you in real life. He ended up loosing his house and moving back with his parents at age 48 and lost his fiance'.
Starting college and doing really well in it sorta made me realize that games are a great option for cheap entertainment but they shouldnt replace real life. When I was younger I would have said much different.
I am actually looking forward to when I have kids and introduce them to gaming and the love that I had for it as a kid. When I was a kid I had very little games to work with so I had to make the best of it. Being older and having more options you sort of drop a game at the drop of a hat because you have the money and resources to play any type of game you want to get your hands on. It sort of looses its magic when that happens I have noticed

I played Star Wars Galaxies for a year, I really liked that game because the star wars universe is the ultimate franchise to set an MMO in. I was real deep in the empire and it kicked ass. I rode my jet bike around Naboo slaying Fambaas.

WoW is kind of a victim of its fanbase. People were content spending countless hours leveling, so Blizzard didn't change the formula until a few years after release where it didn't take forever to reach the final level.
Even then, people were still obsessed with quick leveling to have any damned fun. Seems like any time I ask if someone wants to group for a dungeon, I get the message "quests are quicker." Yeah, well I also want to have some fucking fun if you don't mind. You know, get a group of people to fight a castle full of bad guys and defeat their evil master. You know, like it was a fantasy game, not a fantasy bear-hunter simulator.
Then the fans would complain about a class being too powerful. Instead of finding a way to beat it, they kick and scream until the one class is nerfed. Then anyone in that class who may have actually enjoyed themselves have to start another character or have to read a bunch of strategies and talent lists online so they can spend a ton of in-game money to fix everything.
Ultimately, my hatred of MMO's boil down to the fact that you have to earn fun. I have to say, playing with 60 people in a raid, or mess more in PvP is a hell of a lot of fun, and better than the experience I had in most games. It just takes so damned long to get there, and almost none of the leveling process is enjoyable, it's broken and boring. It feels weird that a game is making me EARN the fun, instead of just making the whole thing an enjoyable experience.
I did like Guild Wars a lot, though. At least it had a coherent story to follow to distract you from what little grinding you had to do.

When are video games supposed to be work? From what I hear from people that play, the game is huge and a lot of work. So I say fuck WoW, I'll stick to the old school.
