What are your favorite video games to quote?
For me, it's Starfox 64.
None of the quotes are particularly helpful in real life, but that doesn't stop me from using them. These are some of my favorites, most of them are only funny if you also do the character voices:
"Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!"
"Can't let you do that, Star Fox!"
"Quit screwing around, do something!"
"Do a barrel roll!"
"Hey, Einstein! I'm on your side!"
"Pipe down, Slippy."
"You've got an enemy on your tail! Use the brake!"
"Slippy, get back here!"
"Don't get too cocky Star Fox!"
"My emperor... I've failed you!"
"I can't believe I lost to this SCUM!!!"
"Use bombs wisely!"

Did you ever play Duke Nuk'em? When I was in junior high, a few of us slept over at a friend's house and made a video (no, not that kind of video...). It was just a bunch a randomness, mostly, with a vaguely coherent storyline, but one scene involved us lip-synching the voice-over lines from Duke Nuk'em.
[deep, hard-ass voice]
'You're an inspiration for birth control!'
[/deep, hard-ass voice]

"It's down to you and me, you one-eyed freak!"
Duke Nukem is a good one too, even if some of his quotes are stolen from other places.
"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum... and I'm all out of gum." was originally from They Live and I know way too many people who didn't realize that wasn't a Duke original. Everyone catches the Army of Darkness reference though.

I just saw They Live for the first time a few days ago, it's awesome. I hope Duke Nukem Forever is like They Live the game.
Worms 2 was pretty quoteable, if nothing else because all the annoying taunts. STEWWWPID.

I quote a good bit of Captain America and the Avengers: "YOU will be the one ESCAPING!"
Also, the Sonic Adventure games -- specifically Robotnik/Eggman: "NO way! I can't beLIEVE this!", "Whaaaaat? He's caught up!" Although for those it's really the voice and the inflection. Oh, and Sonic's "Whatever, Eggman."

Duke Nukem is a big one for me.
Die Hard Trilogy was another one, other than lines from the movie there were a few originals (especially from the Samuel L. Jackson character). The delivery of a few lines were also better than in the films: "Come to pappa, scumbag!" "You're supposed to stay in your seat until the plane reaches the terminal!"
"Bad idea, bad idea!"
"GERNADE!"
"Slow down or you'll go back in time!" - this is a line from a different movie, but not DH: WAV.
I tend to say "Radio? What's wrong with that radio?" and "Like I've been run over by a truck, but I'm okay I guess" a lot for random reasons (Silent Hill).
I quote the "Metal Gear" games quite a bit. I shout out "Snake? SNNNNNNAAAAAKKKKEEEEEE!!" almost weekly.
And anything from the Lazlow stations in the GTA games for whatever reasons.
Oh, and the live action "X-Files" game. "Don't do that." "I don't know anything about that." "What's the matter with you?"
|
"If you will not tell me, I will hurt people!!!" -Nuclear Man
"Do you hear? The alpha and the omega. Death and rebirth. And as you die, so will I be reborn!" - Skeletor

The Resident Evil series is pretty good too for quotes.
I especially like "It should be useful to YOU, the master of lockpicking."
I don't think that's 100% right though.

I'm a big fan of "Jill! I found a POWERFUL weapon! it's strong against living things!"
and then Barry gives you grenade rounds for the bazooka that you probably don't have yet.

I think it was from a King of Fighters or Fatal Fury game from the GBC that had this very interesting quote---
and Tamogotchi for the Game Boy.

I forgot about that.
it also sounds like megaman is hsouting "HIDE THE FOOTBALL!" when he fires a charged shot in that game.

Star Fox 64:
Never give up, trust your instincts!
Your father used to help me like that too.
SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH THE G-DIFFUSER.
SFA3:
"Show us your skill. FACE HIS STRENGTH."
"You can't get enough, go for broke."
And also anything Dan says. YOSHA!
I quote fable from time to time.
LIBERATOR.
AVATAR.

For the old school arcade game "Total Carnage", by the genius who made "Smash TV".
"I LOVE IT!!!"
"TOTAL CARNAGE!!!"
Either that, or whenever that moron in the corner screamed "TOASTY!" whenever ou royally jacked someone up in any of the Mortal Kombat games!

nope.
the game completely misses the point of intelligent game design. instead of makign enemies difficult, or having you solve puzzles, or anything like that, they just throw so much shit at you that you can't even tell what's what, let alone fend for yourself.
oh, so now on top of killing hundreds of enemies coming from every angle, I have to avoid being run over by a jeep, disarm otns of bombs being thrown at me, AND try to collect bonuses?

i wont lie to you, the only reason i played it was to see the asian sterotype general shouiting about burning american pigs.
kids only played it back in the daybecause it was super violent and had army men and monsters.
i think the game only had like three levels, right?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that...stereotyping the Khazbali-what the fuck ever bad guy at the time middle eastern-stan. The game had no levels whatsoever...like...6, but it shouldn't really even count, as the levels look like they were just rotated and painted a diff color, I shit you not.
'Course...the peach of it all was fighting HITLER at the end of the game. That, I just can't get over.
