I think I understand what you mean on these ones.

For topics like the GNR/Poison thing, would you want that stuff merged in with one of the bands or just disregarded completely?

Agreed, I think this mostly happened when the wiki was new because there were so many new pages and green (at the time red) links. I think (hope) that going forward this type of entry would not occur as often.

Ah... the first time it was put up, that was me. It was in direct reference to the South Park episode which had just aired. I saw it was deleted and just left it for dead. I think the reason it was recreated was because somewhere there is a link to it. I'll try to hunt that link down so that people stop the page. Sorry for the trouble.


EDIT: I was able to find that link to "Once in a lifetime shit". It has been unlinked and marked with a strike. I didn't delete the wiki entry since you said you were going to handle it, hopefully you won't need to re-delete it again.

Hey Syd,

Instead of just deleting the posts you don't want in the wiki, could you instead add them to the category "Marked for Deletion".

Then give it a few days and delete the posts.

That way people know what is going to be deleted instead of it just disappearing. Also I doubt that anyone will argue about what should or should not be deleted, but it would give a buffer incase they want to copy the contents out of a page prior to it being removed.

Just a thought.

Syd, you could redirect those titles to the page "wiki pages syd deleted" and put a sysop lock on them so that you don't have to worry about the recreation of them due to pre-existing links.

Well part of it.

When the wiki started it was empty, there were a few random pages, but getting some form of structure was necessary. I began to add a few categories and help get things aligned.

It has since grown from a baby into an infant and is looking better all the time. Tyop has really done an amazing job of leading the charge to sort it out. But there is still some lingering garbage... so to speak.

When empty documents are found there are two main options. Either ignore it and it will be deleted, or put down some content. Either way, it shouldn't need to happen in the future since there is much more content now than there was a few months ago and some structure has started to occur.

As for the Final Fantasy pages specifically... The table here: http://history.sydlexia.com/index.php?title=Final_Fantasy_Series has links to many of those pages, which tend to get quite a bit of chit chat and discussion. The idea was that if the pages were pre-named then there wouldn't be semantic based issues in the future with the article names. But since syd has recently discussed the removal of such place holders, no big deal... they just get wiped away.
