Everybody knows about Capcom and Konami and they've been around for a while now. Capcom is responsible for the MegaMan and StreetFighter series as well as Resident Evil and a buttload of other fighting games. We can thank Konami for the Metal Gear series and the early TMNT games as well as the Contra series and Castlevania. So which do you prefer? I like Capcom for the fighting games and RE series, while I like Konami for Contra and Castlevania. Plus they have a buttload of games too that I probably don't even realize. So what'll it be? Mega Man vs. Snake? Zhangief vs. Simon? you make the call.

Hard question. I went with Capcom though. I started playing M3GA MAN way before I played Castlevania, or Contra.

No disrespect to Konami, but CAPCOM, easily. I think you should have excluded the "both kick ass" option as its going to cheapen the results of the poll. Mostly everyone would think they both make good games, but having to choose between them is the hard part.

All of Konami's series were fuckin awesome but most of them went down the tubes. Castlevania pretty much can be called dead unless this new fighter is good. Contra is still going ok, not as popular but its doing OK. Most the the TMNT games were also OK but the series isn't anywhere near as good as it was now. Metal Gear Solid is the only real exception to what Im talkin about because all Metal Gear, and Metal Gear Solid Games are good. Capcom on the other hand, Street Fighter is still popular even without any new games, and M3GA MAN is still doing very good and even the old and most new games have major popularity.

Yeah, I should have excluded that both are good, but the poll needed some balance. Besides, Capcom seems to be in the lead.

Capcom. I love Konami for MGS and Contra, but Capcom overall has given us much more great games.

I actually went with Konami. Aside from the obvious game franchises Konami is responsible for (Metal Gear, Contra, Castlevania, etc), they made, IMO, the greatest space shooters of all time. The Gradius/Salamander/Life Force games are amazing visually, challenging, and lots of fun. I'd rather play them than any other space shooter games.

Sunset Riders
TMNT's

Capcom gave me:

I choose both
Other than the obvious games, Konami has a lot of (mostly) Japan-only stuff like Parodius and Twinbee, and the Goemon games that I like.
Capcom is just awesome.

I chose both, too. They have both been putting out great games since I was a little guy and still do. Anytime I see a game with either of their names' on it I always consider playing it. Now Bandai, they are a different story. They used to put out so many crap games. Not sure what they are up to nowadays.

I actually voted the option for neither.
Both have their good games, but I would rank both below the following:
Nintendo
Sega
Square
EA
Eidos Interactive
Ubisoft
Activision
|
I agree with Nintendo Sega and Square, but fuck EA, they are a piece of shit company bent on taking over the world. Maxis was fuckawesome until EA bought them out. Bastards. Fuck them hard. Anyways, Eidos? Ubisoft? Activision? Eidos and Ubisoft haven't been in the gaming world long enough for me to consider them. Activision has been making games since the atari 2600. Remember Pitfall?

Capcom produced RPGs, and konami did not. Just one more feather in the cap, thought I would throw that out there. Capcom made Breath of Fire, right? Haven't played it in a while.

Ubisoft:
Rainbow 6, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Splinter Cell
Granted, they didn't develop every bit, but without them, we wouldn't have these games and a few hundred more. They have been around since 1986.
EA:
You may hate them, but they make a shitload of games and are responsible for just about every great sports title.
Eidos:
Dues Ex, Lego Star Wars, Thief, Tomb Raider and has existed since 1990.
I'm not going to defend Activision, they are huge and if you just look at a list of the games they brought to you, there isn't really any argument against them. Also, it should be noted that Vivendi's merger means that "Activision Blizzard" also owns Sierra.

EA was better before they got huge. I liked Madden and the sports games for SNES and Genesis. The Road Rash series and Skitchin were kickass too. Sure they made good games, but they've just gotten too big and have released too many games in recent times to earn my respect. Eidos may have been around since 1990, but the games you have listed are all post 1990. Ditto for UbiSoft. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming these companies. Both make great games as well. Thief looks sweet and if I ever get a new PC I may play it. I'm just trying to say that Konami and Capcom are more like pioneers of the same caliber. They are the staple of many generations of consoles.

Mega Man would win. Snake has rockets, Mega Man has a chargable blaster and 8 different Robot Master powers.

Yes, I like Ubisoft more than Capcom and Konomi.
And when you consider that FFVII had some help from Eidos, yes I'll take them too.
I liked Street Fighter, but Megaman was only "ok" for me. Also Resident Evil is on my list of games that I dislike.

You were thankful for that? I think they should lose points.
I choose Capcom because they put the Street Fighter games on the VC, while Konami has yet to unfuck themselves and put Castlevania 3, and all the other TMNT games on it.

M3GA, how in God's name is Castlevania dead? They've released a new, successful, fun game almost yearly for a long time now. Granted, the series kind of stagnated with the GBA offerings until Aria of Sorrow, but it and the games after that have been pretty awesome.
