Well, I can tell you I don't know who I'm gonna vote for. There are two guys I like. One has met the term limit, The other isn't an American citizen.

I was just thinking about what I posted a few minutes ago, and I say fuck it, nevermind. On a National level, our Democrats are relatively conservative compared to the world standard of Liberal Parties (Democratic nations of course). Why? Because this is what we fucking want. We have two parites because the people that want more are a minority. People love the black and white. People want a party to identify with. To dictate their moral and socio-economic compass. It's fucking stupid, but that's what we get. Ron Paul got little, or negative covarage, and really he is the most textbook classic conservative. If people are too stupid to search for anything and rely on their favored news channel to tell them the biast things they want to hear, then we deserve a mediocre president. The only thing that shames me is when our poor choices effect the rest of the world. I think we as a nation (the people )are good natured, so I don't believe we will make the same mistake that we did with this last one.

People would rather be told by "like minded people" what to do/believe than to actually figure it out for themselves. I wonder how many democrats like McCain better than Obama and vice-versa, but still refuse to vote that way because only vote for their party. The problem is that voting for the "best man for the job" if he isn't in the big two is a wasted vote. Now I don't know if everyone who liked a guy voted for him if it would actually give them a chance or not, but I'd like to know. Sometimes I think if there were a guy who everyone wanted to be president, and would win in a decisive landslide, but ran in a third party, he would lose because people just don't want to cross that line.

I wish McCain would win the election (not saying I want him to really win, it just fits this idea better), get the highest approval rating ever where he is a guarantee for a second term, then run for the second term under a third party. Either that or have a frontrunner pick a VP from another party. But that probably wouldn't be allowed under party guidelines (not sure how that works).

This the most diverse country in the world, yet when it comes to politics, except for the radicals, we have a hard time thinking outside of the box.

scamrock, The McLaughlin Group is a lot like what you described. Not quite, but close.

One thing Fox News does that really annoys me is that they refer to their morning show, Fox & Friends, as "the official morning show of the 2008 election". Uh... what? The 2008 election is not a licensed property and the claim is completely fabricated.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Special Report is kind of the same way too. But they still talk over each other. I don't know if you have ever watched Around the Horn or not. If not check out this video. But in sports as riled up as people can get, on tv its still usually good natured. In politics/world issues, its much more hostile. I think this would be perfect.

I actually respected McCain for the longest time. I admired his willingness to work between the parites, and his outspoken attitude towards policies he didn't agree with on either side. I lost a lot of respect for him when for a few years seemed to resist some of the presidents ideas only to cave and back him "for the good of the party". I am at a delima. I really don't know who I'm going to vote for either. McCain is fiscally on track with my beliefs, and his civil liberties are actually a little more liberal than a typical neo-conservative. I am just really not pleased with his stay the course attitude towards the war. I think getting our economy back on track and global standing are the two most important issues the coming election, and I think a solid plan for withdraw from Iraq would greatly remedy both of those issues.

Fun fact: This election will either give us the first black president or the oldest president ever.*

*I should look this up, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. And it's late.

This'll make Burt Reynolds's decision easy. Don't you have to be 40 to legally run for president?

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Bill Clinton and Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Why not combine them with into one super fantastic person? What we need is a guy who's got the conservative values of Arnold, the "I'll stick my dick in anything" mentality of Bill Clinton, and the natural charm of both. My expensive Sydatron 4000 computer has processed this data. It has found a match:

As awesome of an idea as that sounds, all it takes is this picture to shoot down that campaign in flames.

Semi-on-track, but have you noticed how since 9-11, the right wing has been sucking up to O'Reilly as they re-label themselves along with him? After 9-11, anyone who supported 'merica was a conservative like O'Reilly. Then when Iraq went to hell, they were all independents like O'Reilly, and now everybody is a Libertarian like O'Reilly, even if they don't know what it fucking means. I talked to a Ron Paul supporter who said he was a "hardcore Libertarian," but he believed in Bush's suppression of the Bill of Rights, while supporting government health care (both are complete opposites of the basic ideas of libertarianism). It feels like people just keep giving themselves a label so they can feel proud of some kind of borrowed ideology that they're pressured into thinking is right, whether they themselves believe in it or not.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.
