Any hockey nuts here on this forum? (Canadians, I'm eyeing you)
I'll throw out some topics:
- Burke vs. Lowe - a bunch of whiner boys
- NYR - Sather still overspending on overrated, washed-up players...guy just doesn't learn
- Leafs - just hired an assistant to the GM...a guy who could take faceoffs better than any other player currently on the roster
So...anyone?

Just because I'm Canadian doesn't mean...yeah, I love hockey. And yes, I am a Canucks fan.
Fuck the Rangers, and fuck Anaheim, they took our boys...

I'm not Canadian, but I have played with and against several Canadians, and I do love the game.
Played goal in high school and college. Still play every once in a while, but I really miss *real* competition. Men's league is weak.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

Some of them are probably bandwagon fans, but yes they do have fans.

Really? Where I live, there are always those few players in my lower division who really belong in a higher one....racking up points like no tomorrow.
I'll probably play during the fall season...

I can tell you, there are plenty of Leaf haters, even in Toronto.
Such a dysfunctional organization, I really hope they tank this upcoming season and get the number one draft pick, haha.
My money's still on Pittsburgh.

More likely to come across them than a Preds fan.

I've been to a few WHL games. We have the Portland Winterhawks who use to be an awesome team back in the late 90s. Now they kinda suck,

Yeah... don't get me wrong, hockey is hockey- but men's league just seems a little less important than what I was playing for in high school and college. I guess I felt a little more pride with my school on my sweater as opposed to some made up semi-clever name. As for the men's leaguers who rack up points in lower level leagues then they should be in... yeah, they're everywhere, and are pains in the asses. I try to play in the highest level men's league on a regular roster (around here, it's called B+ league), but since I'm a goaltender, I'll often fill in for goalies in the lower level leagues. People don't seem to care about that as much as forwards that score 125 goals a season by playing in a league they're too good for.

In the league I play for, some of the team names are obviously tongue-in-cheek humour, like "Metro Sexuals", "Dingle Berries", "Blue Balls", "Big Tings", "WTF", and so on.
That's one advantage to playing goal - having the chance to sub for other games. More games for the same pay. And in my league, equipment is provided for the goalies.
Another thing that's annoying? Excessively physical players in non-contact leagues. Fuck 'em.
