And Konami still hasn't a single worthwhile game for the Wii. Someone remind me again why Nintendo was gracious enough to allow Solid Snake, Konami's boring overrated piece-of-shit mascot a slot in Smash Bros. What the fuck has Konami done for Nintendo lately? The Castlevania fighting game is a good first step, but it's a little fucking late, considering we knew Solid Snake was going to be SSBB like 18 months ago.
Fuck you, Konami. Suck my fucking dick.

Judging by MGS4 sales figures, having snake in the game alone probably helped sell an extra million copies of the game. I actually just made that figure up, but it's not a stretch to see fanboys and stans buying Wiis just to play as snake in brawl.

I think it is. Who the hell is dumb enough to spend $250 on a system they didn't care about and another $50 on a game they weren't already interested in just to play as Snake?

Well, fanboy and logical don't exactly go hand in hand. The impact may not have been as dramatic as I made it sound, but the inclusion of Snake and Sonic, which were announced almost 2 years before the game even came out, hugely added to the game's hype. It'd be naive to think that they didn't help boost sales figures, and that's probably all Nintendo was looking for.

The same people that bought a Gamecube, memory card and Soul Calibur 2 just because Link was in it. Konami could announce a DS game at E3 that consist of Snake pissing his name in the snow (with stylus control no less) and a lot of people will still buy it just because it has Snake.

I thought the same thing at the time but during a trip to EB and Best Buy around its release, I was seeing people buying a cube along with SC2. I talked to a guy in line and he told me he was getting the system and the GC version for Link so I asked why he didn’t get SSB: M as well and his response was “That’s a party game.” So then I asked about Wind Waker since he wanted to get a game with Link in it and was told the classic “That game was made for kids” line.
I found what little I could that mentions an increase in GC sales along with SC2 but it’s better than nothing. The first link talks about European sales while the other compares the GC versions sales with the others.

I could have sworn that this topic was about who preferred melee over brawl like two days ago....
anyway, I don't think snake was put in because of hype or sales or any of that stuff. sakurai and kojima are jsut really good pals and they thought it would be cool do do.

a) I almost never play as Snake in Brawl. There's just too many characters to choose from and he just doesn't stick out that much (though his final smash is badass).
b) That fucker is from Konami?
c) the real question is, when is Konami gonna put out all the other TMNT games on the VC? That sounds like proper penance for putting him on Brawl.

Don't give them ideas! I wouldn't mind a Metal Gear 2 1/2 to know what the hell happened between 2 and 4 since 3 was a prologe to pretty much the entire series.

I'll assume you'd use so sort of plastic wrap, on the cigarettes. Though you'd probably have to cover them in mucus so they won't disolve in your stomach acid.
