They replaced it with The N. Its a good channel IMO. It has Saved by the Bell and Kenan and Kel. But I think it suck that they took GAS off the air.

I really like The N.
Instant Star is a pretty cool show and they've taken Degrassi as well, another Canadian show to come o the US. They show The fresh Prince, Saved By The Bell, All That... as Scamrock has already mentioned. It's demographic seems aimed to teen girls though, but they've still got some good programming.

A lot of Nick's live action in general seems to be aimed at girls. iCarly, H2O, Zoey 101, even Josh and Drake is obviously going to be appealing to them. Though I like it because it reminds me of a white version of Kenan and Kel, just not quite as good.

Spongebob's cool. I dug it when I was a kid, and it also gave me my first taste of metal in the Pre-Hibernation episode where they had Pantera in the background. But I'd agree with whoever said Nick finally keeled over when they took away Zim. R.I.P., you slimy green bastard.

I don't know if anyone else remembers or even knows about this, but I think when they replaced the ENTIRE cast of All That was the final nail in Nickelodeon's coffin.

That was around '02. I remember All That. I loved All That. But hey, they were getting older and doing their own things. The new cast (which all I remember is of course Drake and Josh) sucked 300 types of ass. It's no wonder it isn't airing no more.
I even watched the 10-year reunion. I almost cried. I loved when they did that skit that was a combination of the older and newer ones.

I would say that catdog was the first really shitty nick show. Also, frequency of episodes of Nick News with Linda Ellerby is directly associated with the quality of the network as a whole. I think I might make a graph for years 1991-2001.

Sponegebob was a very funny cartoon, full of comedy and sexual innuendo, but then they started dumbing it down and it went dowhill from there.
As for Cartoon Network, I loved Johnny Bravo. I mean the dude just basically loved his mom and tried getting pussy 24/7.
Billy and Mandy was an awesome fucking show.
Chowder and Flapjack is funny shit.
