Well... the Genesis version did have inferior graphics and sound to the SNES version. And you pretty much needed the special Genesis controller with X,Y,Z on it to play it properly. But it had the blood! Sure you needed to input an annoying code every time to unlock it, but it had the blood! And at the time, it was very well-received.

The SNES version could have been fantastic, if it wasn't for the lack of blood. The SNES version of MKII was damn near perfect.

You should write an article comparing all of the versions in hopes of finding the perfect one.

I can donate an Amiga version of MK2. While it takes ages to load on an A500, it had blood and, if I remember correctly, it was played using a joystick. As in, you only had ONE attack button. Two, if you had a badass one. Try ripping out someone's spine with that.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

That's why you always post your videos on Revver.

I just bought Contra 4. After playing it for a few hours, the original Contra seems like child's play. This kid probably wouldn't make it past the first few screens. The game fuckin rocks though. I didn't want to bring back the other DS thread, but good suggestion Syd.
