As I was browsing the site today I came upon a thread that interested me.

As I got most of the way down the thread I noticed in big letters "Spoiler".

I had no interest in reading the spoiler, but how can it be avoided when it is the next thing on the page and is underlined?

Perhaps as a courtesy spoilers could be in their own threads or thread titles could be noted with the word "Spoiler".

Some places have Spoiler tags which will make it unreadable until you highlight it.

I've been to a forum where they required you do this before and after spoiler information too:

S
P
O
I
L
E
R

Finally, I tried to avoid them Very Happy

I hate spoilers, some people like to be surrpised.

I guess you mean my post in the Heroes thread. I probably should have added a couple of blank lines after the spoiler warning. I apologize.

Only the person who created the thread or a moderator can add a spoiler warning to the topic title. That means one of them would have to edit the title as soon as somebody posts a spoiler in a thread. Seems cumbersome. And having two threads for every topic that contains spoilers doesn't sound much better.

I know there are phpBB hacks that allow to hide spoilers until you hit a button, but blank lines should work just as well. I'll remember it next time.

Tyop,

It was your post, but the concept was general. I wasn't trying to aim this at you.
