Game Freak. The company is doing big things right now with Pokemon on Nintendo's DS and Wii systems.

But before Pokemon, they created a game with Sega that was one awesome game. I'm talking about....

Pulseman, released in 1994 in Japan (though it was only available in America to people like me who had the Sega Channel online service) is one of the most noticed games ever. and one game that SERIOUSLY needs a sequel.

Playthrough 1st level! 行きます!

Just look at the graphics, they are like a 1st generation GBA game! In Sega Genesis terms, that's one of the best graphics next to Gunstar Heroes, released the year before.

Here is the story:
In the 21st century, noted scientist and computer engineer Doc Yoshiyama had succeeded in creating the world's most advanced Artificial Intelligence. He called his creation "C-Life" and managed to make her aware, thinking, and feeling. However, he soon found himself in love with this C-Life girl and wanted to be closer to her, so he digitized and uploaded himself into his computer core, where the two "made love" by combining his DNA and her program core. The end result of their love was the birth of a half-human, half C-Life boy named "Pulseman". Pulseman was unique in that he didn't need to remain inside a computer to survive, and had the power to channel electricity through his body, using it both as a weapon and as a means of quick transport through the power of "Volteccer".

Unfortunately, living in the computer world for so long twisted Doc Yoshiyama's mind, corrupting his brainwaves and his body. Doc Yoshiyama emerged back into the human world, but twisted and changed into the evil Doc Waruyama. Now, Doc Waruyama establishes the Galaxy Gang, spreading a new wave of cyber-terrorism across the world, and Pulseman must fight his own father and put an end to his gang for the sake of the free world.

The Voltteccer move.

Note that this game is Voiced in English.

Image

Image

The first level boss. It's a hand (controlled by someone) that crushes blocks in 2 ways. Think of that mini-boss in that Casino Night zone in Sonic 3. sort of like that.

Image

Image

Image

The person that was controlling the boss. I hit and killed him.

Image

Translation and voiced--"Thanks to the efforts of Pulseman, the case was completely solved!"

The music in the game is really catchy, like LifeForce (NES) catchy.

Image

The bonus stage after every level is like Breakout. Your Voltteccer is the ball.

Image

The Stage Select Screen.

Isn't this game awesome? Until GF realises the potential of the game, We will wait slowly.

バンバーマンアウト!-Bomberman out!
EDIT- One pic gone. Same Picture.

Looks like a Megaman clone to me.

I have a feeling that you're gonna rip me a new one for that.

Sir, this is no Megaman clone.

The controls are 2 different things, OK?
Pulseman is positioned as a platformer.
And there are no Robot masters. There are cyberterrorists.

"Get it" on your emulator... And you'll like it. I'm telling you Pulseman is one awesome game. (Copies of this game go for insanely high prices on Ebay)

And while I may not like what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Thank you for being objective about that. Some people (not on this forum, of course) would've screamed, or spread rumors, or called me un-American (I'm talking to you, George Bush) for disagreeing with them. I applaud you, and will give Pulseman a shot.

I suppose it makes sense I never heard of this; Sadly, I never had the Sega Channel as a kid. However, I will give it a shot, as I have the rom somewhere on my PC. Romsets and all that, y'know.

I never owned a Sega, so I never played even the most well known games on the system. This game looks really appealing to me, I think I'll try it out.

I went to the stage called India, but it had a lot more crazy colors and solid lazor-cubes in it than India does. If it were REALLY India, the lazor-cubes would be flying cows and the bird thingies that fly at you would be, like, monkeys or something.

The opinion I hold of fanfics in general is that they are like the night sky. The good ones are the stars, and the shittastic ones fill the black space in between.
