In Contra you get shot and your dead, unlike in real life where it takes like 10 shots in the face to kill someone Rolling Eyes

Not all the time. Remember the drunken rule #84. It's so far down the drunken rules list since most of the otehrs are about balancing Wink

Anyway, if you're a bad shot normally alcohol should improve your aim. The harder the shot the better(works good for first person shooters). This is because normally your aim is off. So, when you're drunk your reflexes are slower. A shot you would have missed because you were not aiming right now hits, because you're going slower than normal but playing like you normally do. Instant aim correctiveness.

People get pissed off with me in this situation when I'm "Ghandi" and killing them despite being 4 beers down and buzzed playing CS with the pump shotgun. It corrects my aim. For Contra maybe you just can't get that damn jumping shot to hit the right spot(a few places where this can matter). Down a few beers, maybe a shot or two, most likely both. Game owned Very Happy

So, the moral of the story is. Keep drinking. We didn't invent beer for it to go bad! Twisted Evil

IDK I can play newer gen games just fine when drunk, but I instantly fail NES era games once I've consumed any alcohol. Confused

Play Contra III, on the virtual console, with a GCN controller, on hard. The buttons are:

A=Nuke
B=Jump
C-stick=N/A
Control Stick=Move,Duck,Aim
D-Pad=Move,Duck,Aim
X=Gun Swap
Y=Shoot
Z=Map
Start=Pause

The controls make the game more difficult but I can get to the second last stage.

You might want to try playing Probotector, the european release. Instead of guys you shoot robots. And it's a tad slower. Might be easier for you.

Nah, it's just that I never grew up with the game, and never practiced with it. It's not like I suck at games, the hardest NES game I beat was Ninja Gaiden 1.

sure he did, midway didn't make it, wait they did. It doesn't say scorpion wins after winning oh wait it does. And Scorpion and subzero aren't brothers. Seems clear to me .

yeah the mk video makes me think its all a joke though cause he isn't complaining about the difficulty just completely wrong things about the game. But he could just be stupid either or really.

Technically Midway didn't make it. Midway made the original arcade game. The Genesis version was made by Probe Entertainment and published by Arena.

But the Genesis version sucked ass, like nearly all home versions of MK.

Apparently, the version of UMK3 on the Xbox Live Arcade is a direct arcade port, not dumbed down or something.
