They're both DeviantART mascots. The one on the left is Jark The Yellow Alien and the other one is named Fella. And thanx!

i looked at some of the other entrys it looks like some of the people just posted their slash artwork and hastily put the anime expo logo on it

I just noticed that too. Makes me feel more confident in my entry . Plus, most of them were done digitally, which puts my traditional style at a disadvantage.

it didn't win, obviously. But DA is a very large community, so I'm not surprised.
