http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/73195/hancock_review.html They didn't like it. It doesn't sound at like the film I though I'd wanted to see. Shit...I'll still see it, of course, but now I'm prepared. Who knows, maybe it'll be like Speed Racer, and I'll love it. Your thoughts?

I just saw an advanced screening. It was pretty good, not anything awesome but enjoyable and fairly funny. It could have used more time to build up the plot, but Syd tells me it was apparently cut way down from the original length. Overall it was a typical Will Smith movie, enjoyable, a little funny (without going too far like some of his movies) and fairly well acted (he's getting better at that IMO.) Better than I Am Legend.

I've seen some good reviews to balance it out, too. Will Smith has definitely grown as an actor. Same as Depp and Tommy Lee Jones. I liked IAL, but the alternate ending really makes the film for me.

What's wrong with Will's acting in I am Legend? I thought that was one of his best movies, besides The Pursuit of Happiness.

His acting in I Am Legend isn't the problem with that movie, I think he does a great job myself, probably the best I've ever seen him do. It's the rest of that movie that makes it bad.

I saw it last night and it wasnt horrible but it wasn't anything special either. There was really no basic plot just bunches of mini plots all schrunched together.

I try to pay attention to your posts ken, but your avatar mesmerizes me every time.
That review is kind of disheartening... 2 stars out of 5? That's, like, worse than 2 stars out of 4!

Biographical?! Afre you high? It's a fictional character.
The Doors didn't have a "plot" because they couldn't make things up that didn't happen. In a SUPERHERO movie you can do whatever you want!

No, I think Jew was referring to the fact that Will Smith has super powers. Because he does. Right?

I know he has the power to hang out with crazy scientologists like Tom Cruise, yet the general public still loves him.

I just saw it today, it was decent. I wished he did more saving people and had an actually super villain to fight, but it was decent.

So for those of us who haven't seen it, it's already 33% older then when you saw it.

No thanks. I'd rather just save my money to see Hellboy 2 next week.

It was the point the movie started to go down hill for me too. It was Hancock's answer to Spiderman 3's spidey dance:
Well, not AS bad as THAT though
SPOILERS!!!!
I was hoping she would be the villain at the end and not the psycho criminal fail-er-mind who had a running gag of his own: "ZOMFG! My hand!!!" He also fails epicly by getting owned by the PR guy trying to spread peace and love. That's the closest thing to getting own by Jesus the modern villain is going to get.

Saw it yesterday. The premise was cool and promising, but half-way through the movie they were already done with it (just everything in the movie felt rushed) and then came that half-assed back story for Smith's character. Speaking of 'assed': That "joke" with the two prisoners should have never made it out of the editing room. So fucking dumb.
